People said they same of the price of cigarettesYou remind me of a time I was on a course in Southampton in 1975. We were doing a pub crawl in Shirley which had a bit of a reputation at the time. I think beer was about 35p a pint at that time (7 bob in old money which seemed pricey to us on the day.) I read in a paper that the breweries were insisting it needed to go up to 50p a pint (ten bob !!!) in order make it a viable product. I turned to the other lads and said: "The day it goes up to ten bob a pint, is the day I stop drinking."
No ... I don't know what planet I was on either ....
