TK Maxx Parking Fine.

No, but I do think it's a two way street and I am completely opposed to heavy handed private parking companies that twist and turn, like a twisty-turny thing, in order to extract petty pseudo fines for minor infringements that don't impact on the businesses trading on the site.

It's one thing having a time limit rule, but a rule that states that the driver cannot leave the site (but the passengers apparently can) is petty beyond belief and I'm happy to support anyone caught up by such a rule.
"It's one thing having a time limit rule" but even one for half an hour would allow Stafford motorists to fill most of the spaces for "just popped in to Devils Bottlehouse" or other nearby off site businesses which definitely would "impact on the businesses trading on the site".
It's a private car park and it's up to businesses trading on the site to decide how it is managed, and doing their best to maintain spaces for THEIR customers must be their main interest.

If you look into this, you will find that it's not businesses trading on the site that decide how it is managed.

Then I expect that businesses trading on the site will appoint a company to manage the car park and that if they're not satisfied with how that's done they'll appoint a different one.

They would complain to the landlord about their being no/limited spaces for their customers due to people using it to shop elsewhere and as a result the landlord appoints a parking enforcement company to manage the car park.

This is why the majority of private car parks in Stafford now have ANPR fitted (Madford, Tenpin, The Range, Dunelm, Kingsmead, Hough), because people park there and walk to other shop/into the town centre.

Yes indeed. For "businesses trading on the site will appoint a company to manage the car park" I should have posted "the landlord of businesses trading on the site will appoint a company to manage the car park" as presumably they are leased properties.

They will have proof you left the site. That car park owner/management use a physical attendant who watched the people who arrive.

Try the appeal based on inadequate signage or similar. There are quite prescriptive rules around signage that essentially mean most car parks don’t comply. It needs to be clearly visible from the car, it needs to be displayed in a manner that could be seen from exits (vehicle & pedestrian).

I actually really dislike this system of penalty charging that has become so common but commuters who use the train seemingly dump their cars wherever they can and as close as they can to the station so it’s an unfortunate necessity

When charging for parking at the hospital started, one of the claims made was that people were driving there in individual vehicles, meeting up and then driving to paid parking in the town in one of them, leaving the others there all day.

This is one of the reasons we have resident permits in Castletown. People would just park up and go away on their hollibobs for a fortnight or so. Never mind those of us who live here and struggled to find somewhere to park.

Ah, those heady days when there was something in town for groups of people to go to on a regular basis.

The attendant used to follow me across the carpark as I walked home from town and popped into Poundstretcher en-route. He'd look most disapponted when I came back out and carried on walking instead of heading for a car on the carpark each time. 😂

They did it with the Royal Mail car park too. You'd get there at 7am and there would be cars there and nobody in the collection office.

Also, if K P Abbot is a real name, then they'll find this thread with a bit of searching.
