barratt homes have given us very short notice ( 4 days!) (and have only notified a few homes) of a consultation and viewing of plans for a huge development near moss pit and acton
it is at the holiday inn junction 13 on Friday 28june 12 till 4 and sat 29 10 till 4.

it will affect all in these areas.

Enjoying a drop of red.
Stuck between the motorway, the railway line and the Argos site. Hardly a premium site!

If people want to live there then good luck to them it's not like it will be taking up any land that has a strategic countryside importance. In fact I dare say most people didn't even realise there were fields there at the moment.

They say on their webiste that they are consulting, will hold one to one meetings and exhibitions - seems to me like they are being pretty fair. Stafford BC as Planning Authority will also have to consult on any planning application and so you also have that route to lodge any concerns. Given all of this I honestly can't see the problem.

Under the National Planning Policy Framework (NPPF) the developer has an obligation to consult with the local community and to provide a statement of community involvement to prove that they have. This will be the first of many consultations and will be designed as an information giving exercise in the first instance.
Once the planning application is submitted it should have addressed any issues that have been raised in the consultation process and will again have ( as FDR has pointed out ) a statutory consultation period where by law any affected neighbours will have the opportunity to comment.

I hear castlefields are kicking off again about proposals to build around them too. I remember when all that were fields....

How does one find out who built their home? Mine was built in 1991 and I'm curious as to who the builder was. I'm also curious as to whether more than one builder put houses up on this development.

I've got a mate that lives at the back of the estate, says they are trying to build on the field behind him so am guessing closest to the new houses in dopey. Pretty sure he said he'd had stuff through the door from the local residents group? Also mentioned joining that road up to dopey too, guessing that will involve a bridge.

The only clue I have is on the roof trusses - all for plot 39 with the exception of two, which is rather worrying. They were for plot 37 - which thankfully is identical to my house. I keep meaning to ask Dave and Julie if they have two for plot 39.

If they do, then demand that they be swapped.
