I have heard it on the grapevine that Flowerhouse may be replaced with a Burger King, bringing the Bacon double cheese burger to Stafford finally.

I have long believed it was some sort of conspiracy keeping Burger King out of Stafford. I mean, how can we have 2 MacDonalds, 2 KFC's countless pizza chains, but no Burger King? A little more expensive than MacD's, but holy crap, sooo much better. Please let it be true!!!

Sports Direct = chavtastic, or not.... you decide.

I think McD's in town attracts the chavs and the one by Bristol Street attracts the boy racer chavs so a Burger King in place of flowerhouse will probably attract more of the later...

If BK do start up in the old flowerpower house i'd guess that daytime trading will be serving the many customers that are flocking to this area since the new 5 or so units opened. There are currently two units empty, sports arena and carpetright, the way it's going we could soon be seeing another big high street name down there.Plus i'm sure that with BK we'll see a urinal arrival....

What that sports arena is bigger than their current site surely? Whenever i visited carpetright staff usually outnumbered customers......

Carpet Right were in the Sports Arena today. They seem to have carpets in the second unit, I'm not sure if they are just storing stuff in there.

I know from a reliable source that the lease on Flowerhouse expires April/May and that the owners were debating if to renew or not. (Heard this in March). They did really well at first, especially through Christmas but in the New Year trade has died and it's a large unit for them.

They are however, exploring the potential of opening up in a shop in town.

To Florence, where is the 2nd KFC? There is only the new one surely, the old one has closed down.

Sorry for butting in, but I doubt Florence has gone down Greyfriars lately. Although, I only knew KFC was closed about 2 weeks ago. It's a bit like the Mary Celeste there now. Anyone know what's going to replace it? Also on the subject of Greyfriars, what's the deal with that derelict house? It looks so out of place there and seems to have been for sale forever. Maybe they should knock that bit down and build a few flats there similar to 'Number 7' instead of business units?...

Yes and carpet right are moving......all the way to the sports arena
Stafford Sports Arena building was knocked down as soon as they shut and rebuilt (into the style of the newer Next/Mothercare/Brantano style) and Carpetright have been in there for at least a 2-3 weeks.

Surerly Flowerhouse is way to big for a fastfood outlet?

IIRC it was up for sale last year for about £250k! Never gonna sell at that price.

So is having a Burger King and KFC the mark of a town's excellence? Does that really add to the quality and value of our environment, does it? Surely it is cheaper and just as easy to make food that makes you fat and feel sick at home? There must be no end of mass produced, low nutritional value meat products available at all good supermarkets...

Now then Sofa person , i must say that i have never been letdown by a BK veggie burger....

 You can't argue with progress, as much as the more civilised among us may feel that what Stafford is really missing is a lentil-heavy vegetarian wholefood cafe....
