I'm liking this shizzle!!

People clicking - no.

But GoogleBot coming past and noticing the your site is mentioned here - yes.

lol - I'll freely admit that it is terrible. Me and MrsCult were talking about it (again) the other week and .co.cc domains are free so I knocked something up.

Ironically though it does get some AdSence clicks (from people looking for actual porn I think).

*edit - I have changed the default poster to Wormella - you're welcome :P

@MyCult - I have 7 websites for which I have changed the DNS for (all weebly hosted). 5 of the sites the change happened instantly, yet 2 of them have not (several hours later). Is there a logical explanation for this?
I understand that it can take time to propagate, but I don't understand that so many happened instantly.

Cheers again

It is all to do with your local DNS. In MyFlat the local DNS is speedy Gonzales. I.E. I change an A-records or update names servers and 10 minutes later it has propagated.

Where I work I can change name servers on a domain I own and not see it propogate for HOURS. Weirdly where I work our ISP is our sister company and is located in the office above ours

I'd recommend looking through one of any number of proxies and seeing if they show you your updated records. (make it look like you are querying from somewhere else and so hit a different DNS and see if they are a little more up to date & on form than your local one)

www.daveproxy.co.uk is what I had to use @ work today to see the new www.dovedelight.co.uk. If I hit it (dovedelight) directly I got your domain registrars holding page.

Dave Proxy is far from the best you can always try the planetlabs/codeen proxy providers (these are mostly run by universities so don't do anything nefarious through them ;) )

You will basically be waiting on your local DNS to catch up with your A-record and/or name-server amends. The propagation will happen soon enough but if you want a check now quiery a different DNS (use the proxy) and you may see the propagation has already completed.

It just needs to time filter through to all the DNS (including your local one) :)

** special note ALL the proxies I have provided there are UK based. In MyExperience it will take even longer for a out-of-country DNS to propagate.

That's great, it just blew me away that 3 sites worked instantly, then 2 didn't, and the following one did instantly again.

Checked through daveproxy and all are fine through that, so I'll hope it sorts itself by the-morra ;)

Can I ask WMR of all the domains you have updated are they all with the same domain registrar? Because if not this maybe why some are propagating a lot quicker than others.

123-reg is normally quiet good but I have a few with LCN and they tend to take a lot longer.

Give it till the morning, if the are still not playing fair tomorrow night give me a nod and I'll have a dig into this with you

All with the same domain registrar (daily.co.uk), all hosted at weebly, and all being tried from virgin media connection here. That's why I can't quite get my head around it.

Will let you know in morning how it gets on

I'll change that.... all have just propagated now - cheers for your support today
For years i've been "web forwarding" and missing out on search engine crawls over something that I could have altered in 5 minutes flat.
So many people on this ere forum always glad to offer help and advice - cheers to each and every one of you!! :)

There's another quick way to get the search engine spiders come running. ;)

Services like Pingler will ping a website you give them and send out a message to the search engine spiders that there is some juicey new content for them to crawl.

(ping works on ALL websites not just blogs)

That being said if you give pingler an RSS feed it will work 10 times better.

If your site doesn't have an RSS feed that is no problem. Services like Feedity will create an RSS feed for you, for free, out of any website you give it.

So put the two together and you can announce to the interweb that they NEED to come look @ your site.

I took the liberty of plugging dovedelight.co.uk into Pingler this morning. I also ran it through Feedity and then plugged the resulting RSS feed into Pingler too.

Typical output for this below:

I'd plug your other sites in there to WMR. Search marketing is an incremental thing, there is no magic bullet but every little helps. :)

This kind of makes sense, because the sites I frequently hit (and therefore my ISP would cache) were the problematic ones that took a while. The one's that have possibly not had a hit in weeks were instantly propagated (because I suppose my ISP had no choice but to physically seek them there and then)
Like you say though, all good now cheers :)

Hi guys. I know a few of you will have seen the website in the past. It's only done using a web based free WYSIWYG editor, but I'm hoping it's doing the job.
Which editor? :)
I know I'm a bit late to this thread, but the site looks nice. Don't go changing it too much. :)

Ranking #1 for your brand is a good start too :)

Much better than having a FaceBook page or a forum-thread at the top spot when people look for your brand ;)

Try it for yourself: http://www.google.co.uk/search?q=dove+delight

Glad to help mate

Since MyPost earlier:

No longer on just 2 pages... Gbot has been eating more of your 'spider food'

5 pages and counting

5 out of a possible 8 :)

That is 62.5% Search engine saturation

All pages on the site (8) :
index
our-doves
the-full-flurry
baskets--cages
book-now
terms--conditions
news
contact-us

All pages in Googles index as of now (5) :
index
news
our-doves
contact-us
terms--conditions

62.5% Search engine saturation!
I'm going to stop posting now.. I might be over Geeking this.
