When I recently said I would eat my hat if the NHS couldn't be run more efficiently, Henryscat told me to get ready to eat it.

Wonder how long before I'm proven right about waste in every single other element of public spending.

Take on people who aren't good enough to be employed in the real world to spend our money, this is what you get.

I hope they all go to prison, although the waste/cost of prison kinda makes me with they'd just die instead.

You're possibly forgetting that Mr Rifkind believes he does 'not actually receive a salary', which is why it was OK for the then chair of the ISC (nothing to worry about there) to discuss trousering large sums from Chinese entities in return for access to his contacts book.

I would like to see how those figures break down before passing judgement, how big was the team, if its 5 then that's ridiculous, if its 100 then that's pretty reasonable. I suspect it will be neither.

A Monitor spokeman said:
“The Trust Special Administrators (TSA) secured essential services for the people of Stafford and their activities generated large-scale investment in local health services. The TSA project took longer than anticipated and cost more as a result.”

Well, that's OK, then.

Irrespective of the size of the team, the whole process was a waste of everybody's time and the money could far better have been spent on the hospital itself.
