Durrow is on from July 24th to August 1st.2nd July. We haven't had time to do our entry and come back from holiday that day so will be scarecrowless
We missed it last year because we were on holiday and won't be able to come this year either because we are going to Derbyshire for a wedding.
The Road to Little Dribbling By Bill Bryson.
So I have a confession, it was years since I'd read a book!
With the exception of time spent in hospital during 2011/2012 life just seemed to get in the way of reading time, I tend to start books and lose interest when I hadn't managed to get through more than 3 pages in a week.
But now we have the caravan......
... and it has reignited my love of reading. During half term I ploughed through 6 books which was great fun, hubby left me and the kids there during the week and came home for work so when they went to bed I sat outside for hours only looking up to fill my glass of wine and stare at the sea.
I gave all my books away a few years ago so I am literally starting from scratch. There are a few I'd like to read again, I'm a fan of Jodie Picoult so may start with a couple of her newer ones for the next trip, I've got 'To kill a mocking bird' and 'we need to talk about Kevin' for the next trip though I'm feeling like it might be a bit dark for a holiday read and I'm determined to read 'The girl with the dragon tattoo' which I've read the first few pages of on several occasions and got no further.
I'm after recommendations, nothing majorly heavy but really good reads, I'm not interested in the Mills and Boon/Marian Keys types.
If anyone is having a clear out of books send them my way please
To Kill a Mocking Bird - Harper Lee. Got the dvd to watch, once I've read the book.
I only read it on my break at work, the book is my daughter in laws, pages are falling out of it, it's that old. I can't believe I've never put hands on a copy before.Best book ever!
