Chris
In the same way as the What are you listening to thread, i wanted to post something similar for films....

I do love my films and I am always on the lookout for something good...new, classic, foreign...dont matter I'll watch anything (NO Chick Flicks though!!!)

So...last film you watched?

Dark Knight and Hellboy 2 for me

last film i watched was "a history of violence," from that mentalist david cronenburg.. definitely not as mental as most of his other films, and not the best film in the world, but worth a watch.. even if the whole film did amount to "oh look, im a normal guy.. actually no, i used to kill people.. the end." lol

before that, i watched "horton hears a who".. loads better than i thought it was gonna be, had me lolling fo' reals..

yeah, i'm crap at finding time to watch films as well.. there are so many films that i've wanted to watch recently, but i keep putting it off and putting it off, until eventually they are on TV and i ended up watching them then lol.. two that spring to mind are "batman begins" and "pan's labyrinth", for instance..

so i've got them on a hard drive somewhere, in glorious HD, yet i still ended up watching them in cuffy tv quality complete with ad breaks and poor editing lol..

ooooh! :o

ive just realised that ive lied!

i was about the mention the filmflex service on virgin (to solve bobbys woes of ad breaks) and then remembered i watched be kind rewind when i was off work the other month.

it only cost a penny, and to be disappointingly fair- it was just as well. if id paid at the cinema to seen it, id have been miffed.

i'm not on virgin, and unless something miraculous happens in the near future i can't see that i ever will be.. sky+ 4 lyf :v:

agree with you about "be kind rewind".. woeful dogshit, imo.. the main protagonists are likeable enough, and it raised the occasional wry smile, but dear god it felt like it went on forever..

i love jack black, but he seems to be in so many crap films.. "king kong," anyone? :gonk:

I agree with you on Be kind Rewind, thought it started of well, but then just got a bit too boring.

This is in another thread i know, but finally got round to watching Dead Mans Shoes tother night and it is def one to watch.

Also watched Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull. Ummm.; Not terrible, but not good either. Didnt have the feel of the originals and the special effects spoilt the film, and what a stupid end!

Life is beautiful - It's an Italian film that won 3 oscars for best foreign film, oftn shown late night on BBC which is where I discovered it one night.
Starts off as a bit of a silly love story set in WWII, but stick with it, as turns out the man is a Jew and is transferred to a concentration camp with his family i.e. his wife and young son. I would urge anyone to watch it, I've decided whether i prefer watching it in Italian with English subtitles or in English, as the English version kind of loses the charm about t.

Can lend it on dvd to any forumites who know me and want to borrow

Wasps - feel my wrath!
Ah a filum thread

Me watched like recently well in the lastg 9 days or so ..Finding TV normal or Cable totally pants these days and I dont like soaps and reality shows or I wanna be a pop star /dancer whatever is all crap really .

Zed and two noughts - good arthouse stuff excellent soundtrack
Mongol very good stuff
Fear and loathing in las vegas - simply outstanding and fits my slightly not quite with it state over the last few months . Johnny Dep is outstanding in it
Garage - bit weird Irish movie
Baraka - really good imagery , music ..meditation type film
Rise of the footsoldier - I loved it ..lots say they didnt .. football, violence, drink, drugs, mockney characters etc
Essex boys - as above but a lot tamer
Untraceable - dissapinting to be honest
Nightwatch
Daywatch both russian vampire fims but really really good
Baise moi - i like it again others dont

Didn't I watch anything funny? er apart from me trying to get sane again ..that would be a no then !

oh and then I found something else to do , I do go on don't I ?

LOVED that film!

Watched 'Running Scared' last night with the mighty Paul 'I cant act for shit' Walker........

surprisingly I thought it was good! :S was only £2.99 from Play as well

Also finished watching 'The King Of Comedy' with De Niro....very odd film...not great but kinda fun...worth a watch...again was £3 from Play

MAY start watching all my downloads next week

ToriRat

Is that a Moomin?
watched Hellboy 2 and Hancock last week.
I give Hb2 a 4 Tori* rating and Hancock a woeful 2 1/2 Tori* rating due to the fact it felt like three different films had been shoehorned together and applied to Will Smith using copious amout of pun-tape
Jheych- did u think Daywatch was as good as Nightwatch cos I havent seen it yet and am debating purchasing it...
(Nightwatch ROXXORS)

Started watching Max Payne last night, but was tired so fell asleep instead! Also distracted cos it had Daphne off Heroes and the hispanic dude off Prison Break in it, doesn't seem right them being in other things!

Daphne off Heroes
did she constantly have her shoulders back, and do that wiggly-head-pouty-lips thing she's always doing on heroes?

either way:

A game...PURE action. shooting, slow mo's...hours of pure fun.....

The film...5 mins of action, 3 mins of shooting, 1 min of slow mo...hours of pure dullness...

3 times I almost fell asleep when I watched it at cinema!
