I always wondered what it was, since i was a small child (i'm referring to the concrete ) i don't think it is a bridge support as there isn't one on the other side, but it just seems so random, anyone got any ideas?

It's actually part of the old entrance to BRC Concrete factory and is situated half way up Queensville Bridge. I remember walking down there to look around BRC when I was in my last year at school,and then again for an interview in 1972. (Those were the days when you could go to 2 interviews in the same day and get offered both jobs - Luckily I took the one in GEC Measurements which lasted longer!)

...anyway, what i was trying to say, if you back track a little from that ramp, there's a road to know where heading of into QueensVille estate on Old Rickerscote Lane, you must have seen it, and again just near Frankie & Benny's, know what i mean?

I always assumed the castlefields one was because they planned to keep building, but ended up having to leave the park. Reverse up a bit and there is a pointless roundabout, but in a few years time when the old GEC site is covered in houses and the railway bridge is jammed it won't seem so pointless....
