If you have a mooch around the Netgear settings you should find various values to tweak (but be careful if you don't know what they are for). Virgin Media may possibly hide some of the more advanced settings for its branded wireless routers (but don't quote me on this).

and now ive started getting low disk space warnings for my c:.....and i only had a massive load of memory put into my pc in feb too.
Memory (also known as RAM) just increases the number of things your computer can think about at a time. The easiest thing you could do is to buy an external hard disk, or a large USB stick to save your files onto.

well it completely fell over again last night...but this morning ive managed to set up a new profile (i think).
set up a new profile where? do you mean a new network connection in windows? careful the two don't conflict!

these warnings will have nothing to do with your wireless (or lack of it), so don't worry about that.. memory is nothing to do with your hard drive, so an upgrade won't help there i'm afraid..

i know you're not the type to download movies/tv/etc. so it's strange that you're getting low disk space errors tbh.. in this day and age, with massive hard drives in even the most basic PCs, the only way to ever use all that space is downloading lots and lots of media, and since you don't do this i wonder where the space is going :/

you could defo do with someone a bit computer-savvy having a look, as i bet a spring clean and recreating your wireless profile would help.. it would get rid of your disk errors, if nothing else..
