Where to go for a fresh cooked full English breakfast

The Hub on the campus offers fresh cooked breakfasts. They are served between 8am and 11.30am, Monday - Friday. Five items for £2.60, eight items for £3.60, free coffee or orange juice. Never had one myself but those who have, say they are fab.

The Hub is in the Riverbank Building, right by the main entrance. You can reach it from the courtyard or use the rear entrance opposite the park. It is open to everyone.

I'd like to try the college but I'm never really know when it's open so I will try harder to find out now. I really like the ambience and surroundings of The Swan so I will try again armed with my £2 off coupon :)

Breakfast - half-past eleven - students - who would believe it..?
Obviously our students have been hard at work since sunrise. Breakfast is more of a mid-morning snack, for them.

Thank-you Proactive!

Lol :)
I'll try it on one of those days then !

We'll look forward to seeing you Princedomino, now that you know when to find us.

Incidentally, I had a meal in the Riverbank Restaurant last night (no favouritism, nor even a discount!) and it was better than ever. The only problem being that I am still full. The manager mentioned that the booking system is flowing much better this year. You can contact them and get a table in the restaurant reasonably quickly. Certainly while you still have your own teeth. The Bistro is fairly quiet, apparently, on Wednesday evenings. It's the first term that it has been open on Wednesdays and the regular visitors have tended to stick to Tuesdays - so for the moment at least, no problem at all getting tables there.

Any chance of getting the menus before they run out of tables? Would be nice to see what is on offer, as some people are quite funny about what they eat.

The Market Cafe does a very decent breakfast and they'll do your eggs however you want.

The cafe at the end of Crabbery Street which I think is currently called Theo's Cafe (used to be Espresso Cafe) does breakfasts (can't say what they're like).

The Bear & Pheasant on Friars Terrace do cooked breakfasts every Saturday between 11 am and 2 pm

How do I edit this?
Which of these establishments are open on Sunday? Stafford never seems to lack places for a fry up, except on the one day a week I'm actually likely to buy one.....

Any recommendations for where to go for a freshly cooked full English breakfast? I'm not too fussed about the bacon, sausage, mushrooms/tomato being freshly cooked but I'd really like the fried egg to be freshly cooked with a soft yolk to dip my toast in! Does anywhere do fresh cooked these days?
I assumed The Swan would but I was served a cool kept warm fried egg with a hard yolk in the summer. Very disappointed especially as I invited others to join me :(
I don't eat breakfast out very often but its my favourite treat.
Thanks a lot.

Thanks. I've heard mixed reviews about them. Has anyone had a good experience of a cooked breakfast there?

Sorry, late to the thread - my friend and I made a bit of a habit of breakfasting for a while...

Food4Thought we've returned to more then once, a cracking breakfast for the price

Frankie & Benny's do a good selection at £5 each - I'm partial to pancakes, bacon & maple syrup

Weatherspoons (both of them) are pretty good, again they too do pancakes

The Swan is lovely but I was more impressed with the Eggs Benedict then the full English, but they had run out of beans on Sunday and I'm not sure why the veggie one cost more then the meat one

Everywhere else we've been we've usually had pastries of some kind - so that's a different thread I suppose. When we last went to the Mews they looked terrified at our order of toasted teacakes and our lattes were disappointing so we've not been back.

(I'm sure there's been others)

My mum and step dad stayed at the Swan after their wedding on Saturday, and said the breakfast was excellent.
