Defnitely NOT Parkside - its minging - I think the best chippy is split between Highfields and Stone Road.
when y'all say highfields, do you mean the one on west way? cos i think that's the nearest one to me (since i moved house), so if so this is great news.. i've yet to try it, but my interest is defo piqued if it's starting to earn "best chippy in stafford" recommendations!
Yeah the one on Westway x

Only used the ones on Bodmin Avenue and Weston road in the last couple of years. Both are good, Bodmin is expensive but portions are good. Weston road is cheaper and portions smaller. Just taken a family vote and Weston road wins for taste.

Im more an eccleshall chip shop my self because i live just down the road from it but they really are top quality for taste. The portions often look small but fill you up instantly.
The ones iv tried in stafford are Parkside (scrubby and once had rats in). The Windmill (quality but not as good as eccleshall). Holmcroft (standard)

I cant believe Prospect Rd hasn't had a mention! I travel accross town because they are so good.
My fave is the chips, fish, battered sausage & curry sauce special for £2.70, yes £2.70!!!! bargain....

agreed, used to live quite close to the 'shall and always enjoyed their chips. so, if anyone is in that part of the shire, give 'em a go.

I often use Weston Road, good food, I use them for lunch at the office as they are open on afternoons and usually have a space right outside and unlike a lot of other chippies, they have a cash machine right outside!
The only problem I have there is that one of the staff always seems a bit angry...

A word about Chris' fish bar in Highfields' - THEY ARE OPEN ON SUNDAYS!
And if you're getting back after a weekend down south (for whatever reason), J13 takes you right past them!

For J14, Ye Olde Fish and Chip Shoppe - the one that replaced Full Bellies at the end of Browning Street, they have good (if not bumpy) parking, and seem very friendly!

Near there is also Fish Bar 2000, which I find is excellent tasting and not badly priced - but has by far the coolest name, I'm waiting for Fish Bar Vista and Fish Bar XP, (though I think Fish Bar Vista would be given a wide berth).

Don't like the dirty trick done by Northern Lights fish bar "Not open on Sunday due to no fresh fish" - seeeeemed like they were attacking Chris' USP.

Boppin' Dolphin is always fine food, though the £4 "combo" on chips and an sausage seems a little unsubstantial - with a packet containing not a lot. However, it is only a moment away from my house - but can be a little pricey - which I guess is the price you pay for being in the centre of town.

As for Windmill, meh, I'm sorry guys - not my favourite taste I'm afraid, good for chips - not for sausage.

Say, anyone noticed that Feisty-looking chick on the Pukka Pies ad? She gets everywhere!

Incorrect - that was George Orwell. Mark Twain's quote was There are only three kinds of lies: lies, damned lies and statistics.
