I'm not sure, do you and your partner wear glasses normally? I know people who wear glasses have problems focusing with their regular glasses on and the 3d glasses on over the top.

no we don't wear glasses and as far as i know neither of us have problems with sight other than not being able to see 3d :-/.
i even asked the lady iin curries because thought there was problem with the tv's!

Some TVs require different 3D glasses to others - some are active, some passive, some have the poles one way round on one set and the other way round on another. Some use alternating images, some use two images side by side, some use colours, some use frame shift.....

It's unlikely one pair of glasses will work with all TVs, I would make sure you're viewing a set with the correct glasses.

That said.....

I have a 3D tv and it's crap, I haven't used the 3D functionality since about the second time I used the TV. With a 3D source it's cool but wears thin very quickly, if you use '3D upscaling', on my TV at least, it just messes with your eyes. It adds nothing to the snooker, that's for sure.

i did think maybe i was doin something wrong because i could never see 3d at cinema, put it down to glasses but after recently going curries and asking about 3d there its clearly nothing wrong with tv/ glasses because everyone else could see it fine!
do you have to look at the screen a certain way or something?
i did google it before posting on this site and did see about stereo blind but would be a bit wierd if both partner and myself had this

I agree it would be a bit odd if you both had it - although on another site it does say about 12% of the population do so that's a lot of people! Erm no you don't have to look in a certain way - it's not like those magic eye pictures where you kind of have to tune out. Although like Shoes says you do need the right glasses for the right TV - so maybe you picked up the wrong ones? I agree with Shoes also - it's not that great really, certainly not worth the expense Idon't think. Although the demonstration videos they have in the shops are amazing (if you can see them!) in reality most 3D Tv wouldnt look like that as they have deliberately gone out of their way to make them amazing to make people think it's worth shelling out for a 3D TV. I don't know anyone who actually uses their 3D TV as a 3D TV after a couple of goes!

You most definitely dont have to look at the telly in a "special way" or anything like that. You put on the glasses and if 3d content is being shown it should just blow you away. Having said that, it makes both my wife and I extremely sick after just a few minutes of watching (tried at our friends house) so decided it's not for us.
As all of my mates were bragging about their 3D tellys being soooo good, I didnt quite know how to compete seeing as I dont enjoy the experience anyway. So I went and got myself a projector with an 80" motorised screen. Funnily enough none of our mates have complained about it being 2d and i've not heard a word about their 3d sets ever since ;)

I find this quite bizzare! I never imagined that 3D technology might not work for some people - of course with the exception of those who have one eye or are completely blind! :D

I went to a model railway exhibition today, with Mr B'Stard. We saw a 3-D television which worked perfectly and required no special glasses..
