....for me, anyway.

1) i dont have to work right up to christmas eve
2) i dont have to work mad friday at the pub or even the saturday
3) ive booked all my trains and have seats reserved on all of them
4) im having pie on the 23rd
5) the railway will be open for christmas eve, my biggest fear of its surprise closure in autumn
6) i get an extra day in london with my friend rather than a mega rushed afternoon
7) im only going fulfilling a long term ambition to see matthew bournes swan lake...at sadlers wells no less whilst im in london!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
(this i am so excited about, wee might come out if i talk about it too much!)
8) our fortnightly report has been cancelled for between christmas and NYE meaning i dont have to do that when i get back
9) im going to see christmas lights, with music!
10) im not running at flat out like every year previous for the last 12 years and fingers crossed wont be poorly over christmas!

Is that a Moomin?
Is this a thread for everyone to post? Im going to have a go

1) I love christmas, gives me ample oppurtunity to indulge in my uber perfectionism.
2) I have kids and I think kids make christmas extra special even if one of them is a train obsessed little freaklett.
3) Theres a chance I may actually get to socialise with the forum crew.
4) Having pie on the 23rd.
5) Have a bottle of sherry chilling in the fridge.
6) My mama is coming up for a visit.
7) My mama buys me lovely presents :P
8) My hubby has a list from which to purchase my gifts thus forstalling unpleasant giftage.
9) I am going to the in laws for xmas dinner so I am not cooking HOORAY.
10) and last but by no means least, I will especially enjoy christmas this year beacause my lovely husband is still here to enjoy it with.

of course!

even if youre not feeling in the festive spirit, have a go, coz even when things are going badly, there are always some little gems to help light it up, they dont have to be the ground shakers....it could just be the promise of :pie:! ;)

Hells yeah, I'm still dubious about whether or not I will have homework to do over christmas. One thing that is certain though is that I'm not doing it :D

Has basil seen this thread yet? He'll be right upset we've all started posting lists!

Let me think...

1) Actually having my wife at home to help me with the kids for the first time in several months since she started working
2) Putting my snow machine on nice and early so that the kids wake up to see a white garden (whether or not it actually snows)
3) Sister-in-law now staying with us so it's doubtful I'll actually have to do ANY of the cooking on Christmas day
4) Most of the kids choosing one BIG present rather than all the bitty crap - so I won't nbe spending all morning undoing stupid little wire twisty things and messing around with a screwdriver to put batteries in everything which we would have no doubt forgot to buy and end up spending an hour finding a garage open with over-priced batteries! (phew! So glad to get that one off my chest - lol)
5) Actually getting my wife to agree that I deserved a bottle of my favourite winter warmer "Drambuie" ;)
6) Actually getting my wife to agree for the first time ever that I won't be doing any driving AT ALL on Christmas day
7) 5 + 6 above = one very merry WMR
8) Still overjoyed with number 7
9) erm.... still trying to think....
10) F**k it that'll do me!!!!! :)

Oh, and MERRY CHRISTMAS to you all whilst it's still just about OK to use the word Christmas. Next year it will be the Happy Holidays thread ;)

CHEERS!!!!
