I could try some vets, what annoys me though is the schools want the children to do this but we are the ones that has to sort it all out like i said having a list of places that will take children would at least be a start. Thanks everyone

We had the hassle of helping son sort work experience placements while at school as well. Son asked his school if they knew of any places which did it as he was struggling and they didn't want to know. (The last one he did, we found out later that there were only a handful people in the year actually doing work experience. The rest hadn't bothered because they couldn't find anything and got a week off school instead, which went down well with son! )

One Saturday we must have gone to every shop and business in town , only to be told everywhere they either give any placements to 'X' '.Y' or 'Z' organisations or don't take youngsters on because of the cost of insurance etc involved. A bloody nightmare!

Eventually got a week in Stafford Uni Library for the first placement , and the next time at his old Primary School .

Then the nightmare started again in 6th form when he had to do some volunteering or help in the community.................... then we found out afterwards that it wasn't needed except if doing General Studies
