I am surprised our "MP" doesn't have a family member they can give the job to. Keeping such jobs in the family is the usual way to deal with vacancies.

It is rather disappointing, but not at all surprising, that the candidate is expected to have "Sympathy with the aims and values of the Conservative Party", rather than sympathy with the aims and values of the inhabitants of the constituency, considering that they will be paid with public money..

The other day I heard our dearest Theo saying that she'd had to add security measures to her constituency home when being interviewed about the security of MPs.

I know she's got an office on Beaconside but had no idea that she actually has a home in the constituency.

In other news I’ve recently learnt that I’ll be able to vote for Sir Gavin Williamson in the next election. Still can’t decide whether that’s an improvement or not.

Chubb Security put a load of holes in the cladding for various lights and such and it looks awful, and the not-that-fancy doorbell has wires exposed out the back of it.
