I was just thinking yesterday I ought to take some photos of the old tesco, because it will all look so different soon, the changes need to be recorded.
I think you could take pictures of half the town centre! Some will change beyond recognition and some will be looked back on as "former glory".

Anyone agree ?
I'm not sure it'll be unrecognisable, it's not massively unrecognasbile from say, 50 years ago, slower destruction back then though i guess.
I would prefer it to stay as is, from now perhaps.

And is it a good or bad thing ?
It is a (very) bad thing yes, i'm sure places like Cannock and Wolverhampton were once like Stafford till, (the posion disguised as a savour) 'development' was brandished.

There's a small development going on here, just opposite Bristol Street Motors on the Stone Road, where the old factory was. I can't find any reference to it online - I thought it was called "Sherwood something"?

Now got 11 houses on it.

There is also planning permission pending consideration for 14 apartments on the old Truview site.
