There is a contract in place that Staffs Uni will over the development of the site into an education facility.
The inside word they will continue to have a stake in this site and may even continue operations under their brand. All TBC but that was a deal staffs uni were always looking for...make money on state but continue to rake it in.
people of stafford whined about this and were vocal even on this forum it stayed as education.
now you have it. Good news indeed, investment, employment, redevelopment, education, bright futures likely saved sports facilities all staying in the town and enhanced and lets face it the Chinese don't do things on the cheap regardless what we think .

It has 'been sold' to an unnamed Chinese organisation.
It is intended to have some unspecified educational use.
Some rumours about the University remaining involved.
An unspecified amount of investment, redevelopment and employment.
Anything else?

Where was this copied and pasted from?China remains an authoritarian state, one that systematically curbs fundamental rights, including freedom of expression, association, assembly, and religion
An estimated 500,000 people are currently enduring punitive detention without charge or trial, and millions are unable to access the legal system to seek redress for their grievances. Harassment, surveillance, house arrest, and imprisonment of human rights defenders are on the rise, and censorship of the Internet and other media has grown. Repression of minority groups, including Tibetans, Uighurs and Mongolians, and of Falun Gong practitioners and Christians who practice their religion outside state-sanctioned churches continues. While the recent reinstatement of Supreme People's Court review of death penalty cases may result in lower numbers of executions, China remains the leading executioner in the world.
Stick your good news right up there in the dark passage, sideways
Nothin personal of course
Rumours abound that they will be exclusively educating Chinese visitors, not locals. If this is the case it will not benefit anyone locally, apart from private landlords.

The site would also be a great place to spy on both the armed forces and Staffordshire Police.
