Working from the icebox again today so as to make a quick getaway to Carsington Water for the weekend. There is nothing more nervy as waiting on a space to open up near my house so I can move my motorhome into it.

Avon Skin So Soft is also supposed to be a good repellent

Yes that's what I put it my post.... I drench myself in it morning and night when I'm on holidays.

An American president used it....but I forget which one.

Only the green one works, not the pink one

Sorry, I didn't realise it was the same thing.

It sort of is and isn't.

The Skin So Soft range incorporates quite a few different products but it's only the green dry oil spray that works as an insect repellent.

They (Avon) don't even promote it as such, it's word of mouth that has made it so popular.

It works really well, shame it makes you smell like a bingo hall on a saturday night :(

Does it?

I like the smell, don't know what that says about me. ;)
Its horrible - the carer says it smells like a 'bus load of biddys on their way to bingo', I was hoping the new pink one would do the job & smell nice- but, no, only the green one keeps away the bitey things :(

Footnote. Soltan (Boots) do a great insect repelling suncream & aftersun, they smell nice too!

I can confirm that these bitey things over here can get past that as well if they decide you look like an ideal meal! Ive got through loads of the stuff...stopped me burning and got a nice tan, but as to the insect repelling :ohno:

Still got a heat wave over here :)

Sitting outside a bar on the seafront, watching a bloke make a nice little earner. Each time a rare parking space becomes available at the side of the road, he's standing and waving to passing motorists to park in it. He helps them parrallel park by guiding them in and gets a tip each time for doing so.

Now I know what to do if I start running out of cider money :D

Of all days my parents could have gone up in a welly chopper, they picked today and because they are mental they took the dog with them to Halfpenny Green. Also because I am a fool I said I would go along to make sure the pup didn't cook. They park up, no shade anywhere and scurry off leaving me, the oh and the pup in the car. We last 5 mins before we abandon the oven for a walk along the lane and then head for the café. At which point the parents have landed again and we meet my dad coming to find us. Off we head for the café to find my mum sat in full sun ''waiting for our helicopter to come back as I want a photo of it'' An hour later, myself and the oh retreat back to the oven (car) as at least we'll be out of the sun. Parents stay waiting another 30 mins and still don't get a photo. Thank Gods I had my hat else i'd be rather unwell by now.
Next time, I shall dog sit in their house like a sensible person instead of going along with staying in the car like the deranged nutter I was today lol.

Been to ask hotel receptionist for pick up details. Got back to room and wondered what was tickling front of my neck. It was my dress label...been down with my dress on back to front !:embarrass:

Had another cringy :embarrass: moment going down in the lift there whilst talking to some Germans . They said they live in Düsseldorf. Hubby kills the conversation flat coming out with "Aaah ! Aufiedersehn Pet! " They just walked off ...

Have you ever considered writing a sit-com?

Hoping my house is as spotless as I'd left it ! Just found out son has been home for a few days with his girlfriend while we've been away. " We've tidied up before we left"...:hmm:

Blissful weekend.

I totally love the sun so on Friday night we had a quick ring round our friends to see who could come for a BBQ on Saturday.

Saturday morning shopping for food and booze supplies and everyone turned up at 3.00pm.
Lovely afternoon with nice company, and gallons of prosecco.

This morning our Son arrived and we had an early lunch out at The Red Lion, Bradeley which we thoroughly enjoyed. Lovely welcome and gorgeous food.

Back home for 3.00pm, changed out of my glad rags into my cozzie.

Sat in the garden for the rest of the afternoon with my book a few glasses of Pimms.

Such a pleasant weekend.

Sitting in a hot , sweaty and chaotic Malaga airport. All the gate numbers keep getting changed every couple of minutes and hundreds of people in wrong queues.

Now yet another few flights have changed...like musical chairs :D

Note to self....don't travel on a Monday again!!!
