Was just in there, they said ask for a vegan morrissey and you get it without halloumi and on a kaiser bun like the sammiches. Problem solved?

Tek out in the field, reporting from the Vaults!
Problem well and truly solved.

They already do, they chose brioche. Not my taste but hey, ...!

I still haven't eaten here because I also don't want a brioche with my burger.

It just doesn't work, the whole thing collapses.

What I don't understand is this....

Why can some restaurants go to so many lengths to appeal to different food groups... but they can't offer a different type of bread?

Just seems a bit backward really compared to America where when ordering a sandwich you get a choice of about 10 different types of bread.

The burgers are so big I can't finish them with a bun, so I just go without. That said it appears a kaiser bun is available.

To me a burger without a bap isn't a burger. (Well actually it is, but you get my drift).

I'd rather have the bap than the chips if truth be told.

Oh, and what exactly is a kaiser bun?

I think a Kaiser Bun is a sort of crusty cob?

We choose the bread we think tastes best and we keep it fresh. If we had 10 different bread offerings, and with the slow levels of trade that Stafford presents us with at times, we would be throwing away bread left right and centre. Thus I would go bankrupt and the Market Vaults would now be a solicitors or another block of apartments.

I have been to the states many many times. People eat out there far more as a culture. Good food joints have a much higher volume of footfall than The Market Vaults does in the less than bustling Stafford town centre of 2017. Our brioche bun holds pretty well, and if you want something even more solid yes we have the kaiser.

We fortunately won't be changing our bun arrangement anytime soon. Our brioche is a good bun. It has flavour and substance.

Thanks for your interest in this hot topic.

To be honest I wasn't really suggesting that you yourself offer 10 different types of bread, just a regular bread roll.(the kaiser looks as hard as rock).

I know that you won't be changing the bread, you were defensive about the brioche the last time it was discussed.

You prefer it, it's your establishment and therefore you serve whatever you want and that's fair enough.

I was just agreeing with @tek-monkey about brioche.

You're entitled to your opinion and I'm entitled to mine.

Sorry I'm a little 'defensive'. I have some unattended issues that arise from running pubs for a long time...

I assure you our kaiser isn't 'as hard as a rock'.

I enjoy the discussion on here. There's no need to state 'we are entitled to each' opinions', I take that as a given. It's just nice to stick your head in and defend your brand once in a while.

Anyway, I'm nowhere near as bad as @John Marwood ... :heyhey:
