She, and her associates, are not the sort of people that one ought to get associated with.

If one does, then one deserves to get bitten.
Whilst there's no way any rational person could disagree with that, the ones who will get bitten, at the end of the day, are us and not those who chose to associate themselves with her in the first place place.

There are people out there that vote for them and will continue to do so, whatever happens - people who would get apoplectic if Corbyn had had this done to him by Sinn Fein. I take comfort in the fact that a lot of them will get bitten. Some, as you say, won't, but a lot will, though they'll still blame Brown, Merkel, etc for it, of course.

It's a good job that May called her newly unparliamentary election when she did...

So that she could gain her 'massive' majority with which to sell the Unionist part of her Conservative & Unionist Party down the river.

The best part about winning that massive majority is that May doesn't now, in our parallel world, have to worry about what some sort of lunatic fringe party like, i don't know, the DUP for example, might have to say about whatever negotiations are ongoing.

Phew!

One thing is for sure - if it were a Minority Labour Government propped up by, say, the SNP, and if the numbers needed, SF, the entire Brexit-championing press would no doubt be right behind their every move, and wouldn't be any kind of 'enemy' to the process.

Mmm, worrying about what they will do might still be worthwhile, They might be Loyalists, but what they are actually loyal to is not as straightforward as people might choose to say they believe.

It is true that almost all the press is wedded to pushing Brexit as part of their tax evasion policy, but watching them try to convince their footsoldiers that Sinn Fein are now on 'our' side would be worth it all.

The 'border' remains an intractable problem.

As today evinces - close, but no cigar.

How does one square a circle?

The border is not a problem - the border is being made into a problem.
By whom?

I read recently the evidence that the Swiss border authorities gave to one of the Parliamentary Committees looking over this kind of nonsense that was quite encouraging on the whole. For the Swiss.

Spooks on trains doesn't strike me as an obviously 'friction-free' answer on the Isle often named as Emerald.

Outwith the Customs Union, the border will definitely be a Border, regardless of outstanding arrangements.

I'd be more than happy to be 'schooled' out of any ignorance.

The problem is that the @andy w 's of the world will believe that it is being made into a problem by the EU, not that it is a problem of itself.

There is a line of thought that would suggest that making the solution to the intractable problem of the NI border a prerequisite, a 'red line' if you will, to further progress was a deliberate strategy to stymie any 'progress' that was necessary for any advancement precisely because of its intractability.

If one climbs to the other side of the fence, it is only too easy to see duplicity in the 'stance' of the EU is it not?
