I elected not to post this earlier - http://avherald.com/h?article=4b57c3dd ...Sat on plane on Manchester runway as emergency crash landing in front of us at Brum as we were approaching ,so diverted us as we hadn't got much fuel to circle til runway was cleared.
Then We had to prepare incase of emergency landing of our own and told to leave bags if we did have emergency and luckily landed quickly with a bump but at least safely .
Now waiting for bus to get us off plane as we can't fly back to Brum.
Then got to get coach back down to Brum to get our cars from the carpark.
Bit of a nightmare !
Hope youre home safe soon.Shit...told you it's a scary ride.. after he mistakenly sld a detour through the services, nearly in a pile up with broken down van in lane
Wish I was allowed to drive instead
Feel sick
Hope youre home safe soon.
For one reason or another, myself and another member of staff spent the night up Royal Stoke A&E with a patient,
Without giving owt away, this person couldn't be left with just 1 member of staff, there had be 2 there all the time. Not once were we offered a cup of tea or water in the 10hrs we were up there, only got given a chair at 5.30am this morning. It wasn't like they were rushed off their feet or anything, in fact, the staff spent a lot of time at the nurses station talking about their partners and what they were like round the home.
We waited almost 4hrs to be seen by a Doctor, I had to ask if we'd been forgotten about because we'd waited in reception for so long. Within 2 mins of my asking, boom, someone appeared. It was only when the nursing staff were examining him that we had the chance go the loo.
My point is, i've never experienced this sort of treatment at Stafford/County/DGH. Staff up there are lovely, and helpful. I just hope the merger with St.Georges gives them all a kick up the arse that's needed. Sorry if i've waffled, i'm no good at getting my feelings across.
When I was a patient there last year my room was next to the nurses' station. I heard one Nightshift moaning about two elderly patients who were totally disorientated, thought they were somewhere else and were constantly shouting. One of the Nightshift actually said "ignore him he's just a moaning !#*! and mark it up that we've checked Mr xxxxx for bedsores".
I also found out that they'd lied about checking me and apparently I'd refused to roll over and be checked.
I then got transferred to Stafford and the staff were great and on top of their game throughout my stay.
Myself & the Carer spent the afternoon at Stafford one last Thursday, it was the quickest we've ever been there, everything looked fresh & clean and the staff were super efficiant, VERY different from when they tried to kill me several years ago!Patient confidentiality goes right out the window at both hospitals. I've been sat with a patient and heard all about the bloke in the next beds piles and false teeth.
Compared to how it used be, Stafford is brilliant now, it still isn't 100%, but it's improved tremendously from when my mum died up there.
