Husband and I had a lovely evening last night, first with a meal at The Swan then watching the very talented Russell Watson at The Gatehouse.

We’re supposed to be there again tonight to see Julian Clary.

Husband now tells me that the doctors appointment in Penkridge that he’s waited weeks for, which he thought was at 5.30pm is actually at 6.30pm. He’d be getting off the train from work and going straight to the doctor but it doesn’t leave much time to come home to Bednall and pick me up (and eat), then get to Stafford for a show that starts at 7.30pm.

So, I could either get a lift to Penkridge so that we could go straight from there to Stafford, or we can each go separately and meet in Stafford.

Or he could try and change the appointment for an earlier time.
I’ve got a feeling that I might be coming on here later to try and sell our tickets. :soz:

Drive to Penkridge with a picnic, leave one car there and return for it afterwards.

Yes but if we do that and drive home separately from Penkridge, we may as well drive separately to Stafford.

Anyway the other issue is that the reason he’s going to doctors is pain in his knee that’s been getting worse the last few months.. He was in much discomfort last night sitting still for hours on end, not sure it’s a good idea to put him through it again tonight.

Julian is aware and has snacks on stand by

He's also arranged for someone from Cannock to be in the audience on the front row so nobody will notice if you arrive after the show has commenced

Well it looks like we’re going now.
Yes hubby was slightly concerned about getting heckled, walking in late wearing a suit ( no time to go home to get changed).

But I’ve told him that because I work there I know which door to go through so that we sneak in at the back and not have to walk past the stage.

Just off to make some salmon and cucumber baps for picnic tea.

Is it an emergency exit?

Will you point at it very clearly for him..?

We’ve just got home from seeing Julian Clary.
Bit of a mad rush, struggled to park but got there about 30 seconds before he came on stage.

So glad that we went, he was very funny, very risqué and had us all in fits of laughter.

So this week has been busy.
Last Saturday husbands birthday party at our house, only 16 people for nibbles and pizza, Sunday lunch at Aston Marina, Monday ballroom dancing, last night The Swan and Russell Watson, tonight Julian Clary, tomorrow night off and Saturday night it’s the village Safari Supper.

Just looked at the diary for next week and only two things booked in, thank goodness, I’ll be glad of a few nights in.

The Village school have just told me they want to move both the servers to another room. Also move the photocopier, all of which are situated in a sort of largish broom cupboard which the headmaster wants as an office. The servers are fairly easy as the new position they propose is well supplied with network points, (I put them in a year or so ago when the headmaster wanted that room as an office. I think there's a bit of pikey in this head.) But the proposed position for the photocopier has no network point handy, and the room has a flat roof, no attic, no suspended ceiling.
This pictures sums up the wiring problem … (it's not actually me people, but it could be next week.):?:

Just rung my Doctors (Mill Bank) And I've managed get an appointnment for this evening. I'd do a happy dance if it wouldn't kill me. Wasn't till I told her I was coughing so hard I was making myself sick that I got that appointment.

I can sympathise. I just rung my doctors today and got an appointment for the 1st of April (sort of doom-laden as April Fool's day when you think about it ! :lorks:)
About 17 years ago I had a malignant melanoma cut off my back (in two separate stages.) I suspect that was from many years under a tropical Sun without worrying about a shirt. After all, what did we know back then ? You live north of 50 north the Sun is a bonus isn't it ?
I have another darkening black spot on my leg (no f***ing Treasure Island jokes please !!) and so I thought I'd get it looked at. It's now big and scaly, so … I'm either turning into a tyrannosaurus, which would be sort of cool. Or it's another cut off point of which I've had many since the melanoma (a rather laborious way of losing weight.)
But I ask myself, what have I done to deserve the Black Spot … (twice.)
I've always been a nice and tolerant person … and anybody who disagreed I threw them over the wall. But I always made sure they could swim first. :teef:

I hope that's what your Doctors appointment is for? I have 2 beautiful scars on my face from benign skin cancer, the worry for the results was horrible. A long thin scar on the back of my right hand where surgeopns removed a rather large tumour about 11yrs ago, I think.
I'm not a pretty sight, but never was start with. I'd rather the scars than owt else.
Good luck Bob xx

Yeah believe me I know the problem. Once you've had a melanoma removed the NHS seem to move you up the list a bit. So over the years since 2003 I've been observed, then cut and sent home. Now my back looks like a map of the London Underground !! :buddy:

I'm not complaining, I'd sooner look like Frankenstein's Monster than be dead. (I sort of look a bit like the monster anyway … :teef:)

Gerrin old … gerrin old … it's a bastard, but since you've no say in the matter … open another bottle of rum and grin and bear it.
