So I guess we now have several weeks of dicking around before any progress could even begin to be made.

AKA - the Tory Beauty Contest.

I've only just managed to recover from the hangover following the mighty piss up I had after Thatcher got the chop. Now I'm facing yet another drinking binge …

Bloody politicians … no thought for anybody …. :barf::pint::teef:

I just watched the first part of the Thatcher documentary, if nothing else i got the feeling she was competent.

A few weeks a go I went looking, without results, for the Spitting Image John Major / British Gas sketch.

...At being a nasty school milk stealing evil witch perhaps !.

The country is still suffering from her leadership today , no wonder the party couldnt get a bronze statue of their idol in the center of London for fear of revolt.

I'll giver her this , at least she knew when the game was up , May on the other hand didnt.

That was in the documentary too. I'd almost forgotten growing up with all the strikes mind you.

She certainly changed things - the Labour Party hasn't been the same since either. I recall the Private Eye stab at their new anthem.

"The people's flag is palest grey, we don't want to scare the votes away"

Thatcher was a massively divisive PM.

For this reason alone she does not deserve the accolades that half (?) of us wish to bestow upon her.

She did, indeed, get a lot 'done'.

Some will argue that you cannot make an omelette without breaking eggs, and they will of course be talking about metaphors.

Some will say that we didn't want an omelette, we wanted beans on toast, and why have you broken all of my eggs? What's a metaphor? Why are these people taking away all of my things? Why am i now living under Westminster Bridge in a cardboard box? And they will of course be talking about actually living in poverty.

But i'm ok because instead of falling into the poverty trap i made some easy money from a few Privatisations - did anyone remember to tell Sid? - and i bought my council house and now i'm low key doing ok.

But i live in fear of any downturn in the value of my equity, so will behave as if i'm some sort of Victorian slum landlord even though i have a semi in Moss Pit.

Now That's What I Call Thatcherism.

The media are spinning it well. Farage has won UKIPs seats, plus 4 extra. Not the landslide they like to claim.

Sanity is not statistical......

Nothing really is, but we must abandon mathematics to the cause of accountancy. That is the modern way.

Statistics is like history, it's far more about interpretation and opinion than fact. Mathematics on the other hand is a deep search for the truth … (admittedly never ending … but definitely a more honest pursuit.)

But we'll never be ruled (certainly not in my lifetime) by those who pursue the truth, but rather those who build battle buses endorsed with bullshit, liars, spivs, power seekers and crooks. (That's my polite way of saying: 'Utter Wankers.')

Such is life (as Ned Kelly is reported to have said as he stretched out his neck.)

This might sound a bit pessimistic, but I'm starting to come round to the opinion that climate change might just be a means for the Earth to cleanse itself.

(Don't mind me, I've just downed a bottle of wine and WTF, it's not as if I'll be around to witness the endgame. :teef:)

Spouting nonsense since the day I learned to talk
14,339 people voted for an alleged political party* with no members and no policies. It's amazing how many people can get conned - again.

*from news reports I have seen, it is actually a private limited company and not actually a political party.

It is registered as a political party, though not in Northern Ireland.

Further proof of my alien spaceship hiding in the asteroid belt and beaming an insanity beam at the Earth theory. Difficult to see how this theory can be wrong now …:teef:
