It was on BBC Midlands news tonight, saying in Stafford but refused to say what part when asked.
Said the person has now recovered , and didn't have contact with anyone whilst infectious.......

Telling everyone to book via council booking site within next 4 wks.

Only time I've been anywhere indoors these past few months is for asymptomatic testing at Kingston centre , and todays visit for jab at the showground. Hoping no-one nearby today just happened to be infectious , after religiously keeping away from everywhere and spending ages disinfecting food deliveries etc !

Mrs Noah is booked for her jab tomorrow. So me last Sunday, her son on Monday and she on Friday, could have been better arranged. Penkridge certainly not sending text text messages if phone calls aren't answered.

"and todays visit for jab at the showground".
Mine and Mrs Mudgie's was at 1.09pm at the showground today.

11.05 am for me .

Good job I rang GP to check quite early this morning, if yesterday's missed call was them , or would have missed it.

If you are Weeping X Surgery, and this is likely true of others, they are sending out text messages to phone the Surgery to make an appointment.

Appointments are then made, first come first served, via the Surgery.

Do they have an up to date mobile, sms, number for you? If not then update it pronto.

Has anyone had the rapid covid test? How was it? We've all booked one due to the variant and having a funeral to attend next week, to be honest I'm not confident in my ability to administer the test myself, as I've read is the case. XD

I had the Lateral Flow Test the other week at Kingston Centre, and it was the same procedure as the Lab Test one previously. Was given the choice whether to do it myself or let them do it on the Lateral Flow Test. I chose to let them do it , to make sure it was done correctly. Painless , just makes your eyes water a bit when it goes up your nose.

Well organised in there.

LAT Flow negative results are texted to you about half an hour later , and you can go straight home to await results and not have to sit in car waiting as it mentioned somewhere on the email. I was told by tester that if it's Positive they ring you rather than text message.

Yes I’ve had several weekly tests at Kingston Centre. It’s very easy & well organised. I’ve done each test myself, they explain everything & watch to make sure you do it properly. Results are normally texted within about 40 minutes.
As they’re now testing for the SA variant, they need to do the PCR check to identify which strain it’s possible they’re not doing lateral flow testing now in which case the results will take a day or 2.

@Lucy
Thanks for that info
I’ve just cancelled my Cannock appointment & booked into Kingston Centre tomorrow. I’ve also booked my second appointment for May.
Booking procedure was straightforward & actually easier than doing it in phone call with surgery.
Thanks again. (I don’t have to go to Cannock now:bravo:)

The good thing about doing it that way is you get your second appointment date too, so a bit more peace of mind.

Just wondering when to expect a call to go for my 2nd jab.
Are you told how many weeks after to book the 2nd appointment for doing it that way?. Is it a certain amount of weeks after for everyone to have their second jab?

My first is tomorrow. Site asked if I wanted to book second appointment, I clicked yes & it offered me choice of either Sat 1st or Sun 2nd May.
As @Lucy said, it’s 11/12 weeks after 1st jab & surgery should contact you. They’ll tell you at your vaccine centre if you ask them (edit. Ooops, just remembered you had jab yesterday)

The GPs will call, but when you book online it's between 11 and 12 weeks.
Thanks. Gives me an idea around when to expect a call then .

I asked at the showground yesterday and they just said I would be contacted by the same method as the first jab for the next one.

Yes, it looks like you’ll have to wait for surgery to get in touch.. I tried cancelling my surgery arranged appointment via the website but it wouldn’t let me so I had to phone the surgery to cancel.
