An old friend works for track and trace, apparently most cases nowadays are spread by children with virtually no tracing possible as schools can't pass on other parents details. You either find out via the school itself or not at all, if your kid is positive you'll get asked for other parents details but nobody ever gives them.
Most parents have let other parents know by posting that their child has tested posative on the schools Facebook page.... At least that's how it works at Balfour.

COVID Zoe has us "worringly close to 100,000 new cases per day":

Also: "The ZOE figures are consistently higher than the official confirmed daily cases because we get results from various sources, including self-reported lateral flow tests that are under-reported officially. The government raw figures report on PCR testing of the classical symptoms only, which miss around 40 percent of cases."

I've had two LFT tests fail this week. I don't mean fail as in "I failed" or tested positive, I mean as in the strip didn't reveal a result.

Has anyone else had their boosters and got it showing on the NHS App , along with the 1st 2 jab details ?

Hubby went a day before me , and his appeared on his app the next day after the booster , but 6 days later mine still isn't showing. :hmm:

Wondering whether it's because he didn't have his little card on him , so had to go to the desk with the computer instead . Whereas I had my card and went straight through to the paper filling in desk , and my paper with details is still in a pile waiting to be input (or got missed being put onto system somehow .... )

At least I was given a card with date of booster on , whereas he wasn't given one .

Just went to pick up a LFT kit from the pharmacy as I usually do ,for hubby to test for work and for when son visits .Found out can't just pick them up over the counter now . Have to create an account online and get a code to take to the pharmacy to have it recorded ( sent by text or email and different code each time. ) before they can hand one over.

Probably due to people taking more packs than they need thereby creating an artificial shortage.
Glad I’ve got several dozen packs in my understairs cupboard.

Got a text message on the phone this morning to book the booster. Exactly six months after second jab. Next week I'm off to the Baptist Church in Westward Ho! I shall forever associate that resort with needles and £7 hamburgers. 🧐
Heh, Westwood Ho. I had a good holiday there when I was a kid.
You remember that ramp that goes down to the beach? Well I went for an evening stroll along the shore one night and realised after a while that the tide was coming in, so turned to head back. Got near the ramp and the sea water had come in and surrounded the bottom of it so I took my shoes off, rolled up my trousers, took a step forward.... and did a faceplant into the water as I totally forgot that the ramp has a bit of a ditch around the bottom of it and so it was actually a pool of seawater. Was drenched head to toe when I got back to the place we were staying!

It's been my Jabba the Vax booster day today.

Excellent service at the Kingston Centre. Thank you to all involved.

Was excellent service last week as well when I had mine.

I've just had another text inviting me to book the booster I've already had after last weeks text.

Got the 3 codes online to be able to pick up free Lat Flow kits for the 3 of us . When collecting the pharmacy said we are actually allowed 2 packs each for each code.

If anyone is thinking of going for walk-in at the Kingston centre today , or got appointments for this afternoon, I've just read this on the Nextdoor website.... posted about 1pm today......

'Kingston Centre.
Please note that in-spite of people having appointments for COVID vaccination the Kingston Centre is closed. There is nobody there and there is no notice of closure. People are turning up in droves only to have to go back home. '
