We have a fox!!! Tonight at 9.30pm.. not seen one in years; 😔 it won't let me post the clip 😭😭😭
We have so many around here it's scary driving as they are fearless and just dash across the road. I leave a bowl of water on the front garden for them.

When I came out of the leisure centre in the dark last Thursday night, I had a nervous fox trying to escape me. But kept heading towards my car on the carpark to get away. There was a bit of a stand off as I reached the car, both of us scared of each other 😂

I've not seen one in years.. loads when I first moved here and the common was open land....nearly 30 years ago... Not seen one since it was fenced off & bins changed to green bins, not galvanised..

I knew it was you!!! 🤗
I wasn't too sure how far up the road was blocked, could I walk on the right side and cross over to the side entrance to Sainsburys or not.
At about 5.15pm on Saturday three friends and myself successfully negotiated our way from a Chell Road bus stop to the Railway Inn.

A year ago in London I saw a fox and a lioness. Well I saw the England ladies football team in the hotel we were stopping at prior to taking a flight. The fox was a real one wandering across the car park.

In todays mundane news, off to Manchester tonight to see Luke Combs, decided to make a night of it and stay in a hotel, I am going to be honest with you, I dont fully trust my daughter to look after my dog.

Used to think someone was being murdered in the woodland next to our house when we first moved in. They make a right racket. Got used to it now, but still look out at night thinking they've got a cat or something with the shrieking. There's a fox hole in the banks of a nearby pond that a family of them live apparently.
Sadly , the otter which has been caught on doorbell cameras wandering around driveways this past week , has been killed on the road. 😭

One animal I've not seen around these parts is Deer. Miss seeing them over the chase (but not when they used to suddenly dart across the Cannock Road in front of me)

I noticed a fox last month from "the best room" of what used to be the Royal York Hotel in Brighton and watched it for quite a while over my two nights there.
It looked healthy and spent quite a while wandering around the cordoned off area of the partly demolished fire-damaged Royal Albion Hotel before returning to its lair at daybreak.

A few years ago I saw two foxes from my train between Penzance and Paddington, a healthy looking one in I think Wiltshire and an unkempt one in Southall.

He might have let you post it, if you'd asked him really nicely, but some foxes do like to protect their privacy, of course.

I have seen it stated, by people who might have real information, that there are more deer in these islands now than at any other time since the last Ice Age.

Years before they decided to build that nice, new, pothole free road opposite here. We would regularly see foxes and badgers, just strolling about the car park/ road to the lorry park. Wasn't even days of the first digger rocking up that we didn't see them anymore. The old grey matter might be playing tricks, but I think the youngest has seen 1 fox since the road has been open. There int even the amount of birds there used be.
From my point of view, it's all rather sad.

Yes indeed.
And all a new road does is to create more traffic.

Yes, for fox sake don't disturb them.

Just asked to delay my jury duty as realised it's when my wife needs to be back with her dad and I was having Eric.
Now start next week!
Apparently they can't tell you if/when you'll be needed, and you can only claim (NMW) expenses for (half)days you are needed, which must really bugger up those who have to arrange cover for work then don't get called up meaning they lose all pay. I assume as I'm office based and can work as and when I can work any half days I'm not needed, as long as I never try to both claim expenses and work for the same half day? Taking the first week as holiday as I can't afford the hit to my wages right now, spent well over £600 in vet bills this month so losing another £300 will not help matters!

I've been called twice in the last 10 years, lost serious amounts of money as nearly half my wages can come from overtime, but they only pay contracted hours.... First one was coroner's court & took nearly 2 weeks, second criminal court & again nearly 2 weeks, but most of that time sat around waiting to be called... Claim any parking (Sainsbury's long stay) and meals (lunch) back, take a book as phones not always allowed. Fingers crossed they don't need you & you're sent home.

Will be glad when tomorrows local election has passed!!!!
Everyday for last few weeks we've had at least 10 leaflets or more ( green party are the worst at it) for each political party through the door, all exactly the same leaflets , from Green, Libs, Conservatives ( but just one from labour ,,,,they seem to avoid the longer walk to ours ) . Plus constant knocks on the door from the person themselves, then closely followed by their representitives throughout the day. Even early sunday morning. Hubby keeps racing down from his office thinking a parcel has come or something important!

This week we are being bombarded with personalised hand written letters in envelopes with our name and address on (printed letters though) from them all pointing out why we shouldn't vote for the others. Got me in a panic when the first envelope came through the door , hand written in ink with our names and address with ' a message for you from a neighbour' scrawled on it. Getting used to slinging them straight in the recycling now , but wondered what we'd done when that first one arrived!

Just had yet another envelope through the door from the greens ....aaaargggh!

just look out for "Working hard for ...." and you'll know that's who NOT to vote for.
