Sorry, I've become a Facebook addict I'm afraid. Also I've moved my computer into another room so I don't spend so much time on it. I also have the kids to fight with to get on the darn thing now.

I have to agree also and I am at a loss to explain why I failed to make this point. Good nosh, good prices and the best view from any Stafford chippy whilst you're waiting.

Glad to hear Chris' fish bar is still there. We always used to make the trek across town to Rising Brook shops as they did haddock as standard and everything was consistently very good.

On the menu chart in Prospect Road Chip Shop they proudly offer something called a 'Turkey Stick'. I would suggest that, should you desire such a thing, you need to speak very clearly when ordering - or it might just sound more than slightly amusing.

Oddly I think Weston Road is the best, and the one on Sandon Road is bloody awful.
I have to agree about Sandon Road. I've never been too impressed with that one.
I quite like them, but I haven't really got a choice - they're the nearest to my house :)
I've broken my teeth on Ali's chips before now. Avoid.

Chris Fish Bar Rising Brook has really good SFC if you get it when it's freshly cooked, it tends to dry out a bit after a while under the heat lamps, 2 pieces & chips in a box £2.80. Also legendary cod.
Quite like the mixed kebab meat & chips from Sandon Road too.
Has anyone noticed chip shops not opening on Sunday evenings lately? A couple of weeks ago I tried Chris's, Highfields and Sandon road at about 7.30 pm before settling for a chinese from Oriental Kitchen.

I'm recanting my slagging off of Sandon Road Chippy, as I has doner meat and chips from there last night and it was quite nice.

And as for breaking teeth on Ali's chips, my teeth are as strong as chalk, and i've had no problems.

Incidentally, every time I've past the Chippy on Silkmore Lane recently it's been closed.

Has this closed down?
