Any good chippys open tonight? (Sunday)
Also its a massive ripoff. I think its £3.20 for a large chips which is really a small by most chip shop standards. Pretty poor chips for that matter aswell. Ive banned the mrs from going there. I always go to the westway chippy since i moved down this way. Never had a bad meal from there and the prices are so cheap i often thing theyve not charged me for something. Huge portions. Biggest joke in terms of chip shops was when the windmill was voted staffords best chippy by signal . The DJ who did the competition was ray crowther. I was in the windmill chippy one night and ray crowther was in the queue in front. He recieved his large bag of assorted items and left without paying a penny. Make youre own mind up if it was staffords best chippy.Sorry Trumpet gonna have to disagree with ya. Last night we thought we would treat oursleves and the only place we could find open was Chris's. Chips were ok but the fish was terrible, dried up and hard. Was much the same when we tried it about 3months ago so not impressed and not going there again.

ditto.. i have no idea why people rave about chris' fish bar (or whatever it's called).. you always hear people say it's the best in stafford, so one evening me & the missus went out of our way to go there, and to say we were disappointed is an understatement.. there wasn't anything particularly wrong with it, but given its reputation we were very underwhelmed - decidedly average, small portions, high prices..Won it about 100 years ago wasn't it.....
Have to agree with Chris' though - went there once on a recommendation and found it very expensive compared to Highfields chippy.
Deep fried lasagna?...closely followed by weeping cross..
Have to say I've been distinctly underwhelmed the last couple of times I've been in since leaving Stafford. Think it's since Chris has retired, his son seems more interested in chatting to young girls and telling all and sundry of his 160 mph exploits on the A449.
