Tbh I'm not one for camping these days but if he turns up to headline I may consider it. Bloody brilliant live.

I may even watch Neil Diamond too!

True dat...

i think it's a telling sign that there is (until now) no thread discussing glastonbury this year.. for as long as i can remember, this time of year has been filled with people blabbing about this iconic festival - who will be on the line up? where are people staying? who's been before? anyone jumping the fence? "remember when such-and-such did this-n-that last year?" etc..

i haven't heard any of that this year.. in fact, all i have heard is that jay-z is playing the main stage - much to the derision of glastonbury stalwarts.. and, for the first time in my lifetime, the tickets didn't sell out.. in fact, Eavis Inc. had to take out a full page advert in The Guardian to try and get people to come - and still there are tickets left!!

what's gone wrong? has everyone just lost interest? is it the rising costs? the impenetrable security? is jigga a bit too "urban" for what is typically seen as an indie, or even "hippie", festival?

discuss :strange:

For me, it's the eye-watering expense and the fact I've never heard of the headliner.

there are loads of really good CHEAPER festivals all over the place - for the price of a glastonbury ticket you can go to about 3 or 4 other festivals yeah.

That's right, blame the software. It couldn't possibly be user error ;)

lol, great link :D

Never been glasto, and probably never will, simply because of how many times I've heard people say "Its not about the music, its the experience man". Well the experience can feck off, I've been to over priced festies before!

See the lineup has now apprently been leaked. Thought it was perhaps a stunt to drum up ticket sales, til I saw who was playing. One or two I'd watch, but none I'd pay festival prices for. Mind you I've paid £60 to see Maiden next month so what would I know!

I reckon you're best off wearing walking boot-style footwear, not wellies. In 2004 and 2005 when the bottom of Pennard Hill was completely flooded, with water reaching the top of many tents, everywhere was boggy and some places were knee-deep muddy, we all wore walking boots and waterproofs and were all absolutely fine. There were people falling at the wayside, trying in vain to pull their wellies out of the mud, whilst we strolled on by without a care in the world. They're really not that practical. I bought my walking boots for a grand total of 20 squids from that discount place near Seighford, and they're still going strong.

edit: I realise that's not a solution for avoiding trench foot, but it's just my advice in opposition to the BBC's advice...
