Both the Highways and Taylor Wimpey do realise it and have done for many months.

They just don't care about it - that has been made amply plain to me.

They will both still be paid anyway - why should they bother about the public?

Seems crazy though, if the plan is to make it seem more attractive as people can get out then surely a queue tailing back down the main road is still going to be very unappealing?

Anyone sensible would have put a roundabout there, taking out maybe two houses near the front as a sacrifice. But no, gotta fit as many as possible in, hence why they seem to be digging up every inch of it to add poorly built, cardboard houses to

They don't need to bother - the houses will get bought - they don't need to agonise over irrelevant details.

The other side of the To the Occupier letter helpfully tells us that Vodaphone and Virgin 'advise that their diversion work will be completed by mid-January 2018'. Good to know WimpyTaylor and the council are fully in control of the situation.

Taylor Wimpey say "...this will include widening a 700m section of the road outside our development from two lanes to four, and will improve journey times along the A513.

However, when we have the 3 new sets of traffic lights installed I don't think it'll be good.
They say there are no plans by them to put lights in around the A34 Redhill island though.

Seized up around top Beaconside at about 1pm, ambulance trying to get through. Things can only get worse.
I have been off-the-road there twice to allow ambulances past, whilst queues are pointlessly created.

I made that point to both Highways and Taylor Wimpey many weeks ago - neither of them are bothered.

Highways are bothered about nothing ! They are smug, arrogant and appear relaxed about Stafford roads being in worse conditions than a 3rd world country.

You clearly haven't driven in Liverpool recently. Quite possibly the worst roads I have ever seen. Craters on craters. No attempt to repair any of them. No money to either. Really bad.

At least in Stafford there is evidence of shit repairs and a bit of tarmac having been chucked in the holes. And I'm not a Stafford council fanboy like Gareth!!

Enjoying a drop of red.

Agreed that the roads in Liverpool could well be amongst the worst in the country.

Noticed the other day that after half a century the pre-dual carriageway bit of the old A34 surviving as a lay-by near Aston is in better condition than the one we have to use now. Perhaps the council should divert M6 traffic straight through Stafford, as it did until 1963. That would revitalise the centre.

And the Strongford bends - the only piece of road that I have seen straightened out twice..

Cannock roads aren't much better.
