Comedians - Live!

You are working the magic Carole, a veteran of The Fringe.

Think i'll go see Alex and stick around that bit for the aftenoon til Henning.

I was planning on fitting in Arthur's Seat too at some point!?

@Carole, I've booked in to see your lad.
So they'll be at least 2 people in the audience that day.

I’d suggest doing any sightseeing in the morning and then go and see as many shows as you can in the afternoon and evening.

Most of the shows are only 45 minutes or an hour so there’s a chance to see loads of shows. Lots of shows you can just show up on the door without pre booking.
There are also loads of compilation shows with a selection of comedians (different line up every day).
If you go on the website (or download the app) you can see at a glance what’s on.
For example if you’ve got a few hours to fill in the app tells you “what’s on near me now”.

If you haven’t already got a brochure, pick one up as soon you get there (available everywhere). It has the venue map at the back.

Also allow plenty of time to find the venue. Some are hidden away down side streets. Always know the venue number of where you’re going because the number is outside the venue and sometimes easier to spot than the name.

I’m struggling to choose at the moment.
There are 8 shows that I want to see at around 5.00/6.00 pm and about 8 shows at about 8.00pm, we’re only there for 3 nights so some elimination required.

I'm glad i've been to Edinburgh before, i'll have seen it at a fairly quiet time of year to the utterly bonkers packed Fringe time of year.
Can't wait.

The map's sure to come in handy.

...and then there's the food places to try!

@1JKz

I spent Monday morning on line booking tickets after spending the weekend on the Ed Fringe website sorting out my planner.

We arrive on the last Friday of the Fringe in the afternoon then it’s straight to the hotel, drop the bags off then head out to the first show at 15.45. (Bilal Zafar).

Then Alice Marshall, then Josh Pugh, then Ian Crawford.
(All these shows E5 on the map)

Saturday

Alex Hylton
(E5 on the map)

then head over to Pleasance Courtyard for the evening for the following all in the same venue

Luke Kempner
AAA Stand up
Chris Washington
Rob Kemp

Sunday

John Culshaw
Friz Frizzle
Scott Bennett
Chris Henry
Frank Sanazi

So excited and looking forward to it again.

Edinburgh is a delight anyway, but if you like your comedy and you like your stand-up,(and if you haven't been already) then Edinburgh Fringe is a must!

I'm hooked!!!

3 nights, got to see 11 shows (about 20 comedians in total), would like to have seen more but what with having to eat and sleep!

Spoke to Mickey Flannigan (who was there to watch Henning Wehn) and asked him if he was playing, he said no, but i'm sure he'd have got up to do a five minute set someplace sometime.

I'm already looking forward to next year!!

I've had two consecutive comedy nights this week.
Joanna Lumley on Tuesday at Symphony Halll. She was excellent and very entertaining.

Last night I was working at The Gatehouse, the show was Doreen.
She was so funny, had the audience crying with laughter. She's on again tonight and seats are available.
