Proposed Change of Use - Stafford Court, Beaconside.

This has all passed me by. I hurt my back earlier this year so have not been going that far from base but that protest actually wasn't that far from where I live without stating any exact locality. The n and b keys on my laptop aren't working and my plug-in keyboard is past it so apologies for...

Anyone know what the fare is from Stafford to Dunston (Business Village) on the 875 bus?

Hi, I'm retired so usually travel after 9.30 am so I can use my bus pass but I have an appointment at 10 am on Wednesday in Dunston. The bus leaves Stafford at about 9.05 am so I'll have to pay for the outward journey at least. I wondered if anyone ever does that journey and has a clue what...

    Council reveals £22.2m funding package

I've run into a problem in that I'm over 70 and supposed to be self-isolating. The plan was that the County Council would drop off a one-off free parcel with some basic items (which they kindly did) but subsequently I was supposed to ring the Borough and someone would do a shop at the Co-op and...

Beware opportunistic thieves in Tixall Road, Kingston Hill Area

Saturday 25th Jan 2020 I was out between 4 and 7 pm and some opportunistic thieves broke a window and I'm down a laptop. They also broke into an unoccupied house near me. They came back last night - I was okay last night but the other house wasn't. I didn't realise they had been (yesterday)...

Does anyone know how this bit of doggerel goes?

There was a rhyme from back in the day and I'm not sure if I remember it 100% correctly - it was something like:- "Yer munna say dunna it inna polite Yer canna say inna 'cause inna inna right". Anybody got a good memory?

Somebody asked - and yes I did find some one to tidy the garden.

While I think about it front path needs a bit of attention

I might have found someone who can deal with this - if it doesn't work out as I've said on another couple of my threads I'll "bump up" the thread again.

Bottom of some window frames rotting - anyone know a joiner who might tackle that

Somebody has recommended someone who might be able to "sort" the windows. If that doesn't work out I can always come back and revive this thread.

Anyone know someone reputable who can tidy an overgrown garden?

Crazy Rat Lady, Lisa already came and had a look last week and thought it was on the large side for her; nice polite lady though. I have a couple of recommendations by word of mouth but if neither of those turn out alright I will come and "revive" this post. Somebody has mentioned someone who...

Anyone know someone reputable who can tidy an overgrown garden?

Yes, I had a reply that the angels couldn't take on any more work at present (they were very polite). I'll keep on trying - there has to be someone somewhere who has capacity. (I took note of a couple of firms from flyers/cards at the launderette today.

Bottom of some window frames rotting - anyone know a joiner who might tackle that

Hello again, I'm just waiting for a price from the firm Lucy recommended about broken windows but some other windows have rotting frames and I'm not sure if they need a whole frame replacing or just the bit that's rotting. I've left a voicemail for one person but not heard anything yet (still...

While I think about it front path needs a bit of attention

Hi, while I'm posting, there are a couple of issues with my front path. I live on the side of a slope and the concrete steps up to the front door are faulty - I had spoken to someone about it a while ago but then I got ill and the person gets very busy with work. He had said the worst of the...

Anyone know someone reputable who can tidy an overgrown garden?

Thanks - I've shot them an email (I had already emailed Age Concern in case they could suggest anyone). Of course nothing can be settled over the weekend.

Anyone know someone reputable who can tidy an overgrown garden?

Hi, As well as the window I posted about yesterday (and I have contacted somebody about that) I need my badly overgrown garden tackled. I asked one person who has been mentioned on the forum but that person thought it was too big a job and someone who did it for me some years ago has retired.

Know of anyone who would replace one manky window?

Thanks for the recommendation, Lucy. I looked online - most of the reviews for JayBee's were good but one person said they charged on the high side. Would you consider that to be fair comment? I don't want to seem mean and a fair day's work deserves a fair day's pay but I'm a pensioner so I...
