what i remember as the laundry on crooked bridge road appears to be no more. i passed the scene earllier and noted that the demolition squad had been at work. i couldn't take a long view of it as i was in my little jalopey and i like to keep my eyes on the road, also being a bit of an amber gambler i was somewhat tanking it. now i know there is major works going on further into the hospital grounds but does anyone have a reliable update on works in progress? yes i can already here some of you saying 'do it yourself ' ..'go and investigate basil' ...and i probably will as it's the sort of thing i'm pretty good at. i just thought that in the meantime someone would have info, .....

... no doubt I don't have to remind you, but I do hope that you will remember to only try to elucidate information from those in the higher orders. We don't want a repeat of that last encounter with the labouring classes, now, do we?

How many times have your kids walked on Crooked Bridge Road - and were there any schools in that 30 limit in Nottingham?

In all fairness your offspring should be aware of the dangers of the road...

yes but i think it would be fair for them to assume a given set of parameters (e.g. a 20mph limit) rather than have to calculate all possible outcomes for every possible eventuality lol..

or, more simply: they're kids.. i think it's fair for them to expect not to be run over lol.. i love driving fast, but trying to excuse speeding near a school is just ridiculous..

Ah no i'm all in favour for slow zones around schools, in fact i think we shoud dig up all cameras which arn't out side schools / other instututions of vunerable people and place them outside these institutions, but the fact still stands kids should be aware and the slow zone should be a backup plan, belt and braces if you will.

It must have been knocked down at least a year ago. I think there was plans to build houses on the site, seem to remember something in one of the local papers about them having to supply a number of affordable homes there as part of the deal.

.... I gave you that point and I'm not having it taken away by the sort of person who probably doesn't even have a suit. There, it's back now.

The top end of the site, nearest to crooked bridge road there is currently a planning application in from Pritchard's for a development which includes a halls of residence for students.

At this point I was going to supply a link to the Borough Council's planning site, but it's erroring at the moment.

That's the bit i was refering to probably a 10-15 min bike ride from the university...

This is in addition to a similar application up at the Polyversity itself.

I feel for the good people of Crooked Bridge Road. But maybe Littleworth residents will get some peace now? Now's not a good time to get in to landlording for student houses. There's going to be nearly 600 rooms to fill if these two applications get permisson.
