Outside the old Frankie & Benny's just now:

Maybe they'll trim back the hedge by the one-way entrance. Damn thing is an accident waiting to happen as the bend on the entrance means you have to be right in the box to even see if someone is coming.

However, it sucks that they're ruining that one spot of green left in the area. Knew the 4x4 place would just be an eyesore.

Or alternatively plough into a car at speed, broken down on the carriageway where there is no hard shoulder.
Nah, not likely. When I'm driving I concentrate on the road ahead, alongside & more importantly, what the other drivers are doing. I've also got 20/20 vision.

We have to give notice when doing tree works as we're in a conservation area. We currently in the 6 week period the council have to object, and as one of the things we've informed them of is the removal of a dead tree, I do wonder if they will request we plant another.

I had arm's-length dealings with them over a split trunk on a 40' Lawson Cypress with a TPO on it for some odd reason, half of it was going to fall into the road at some point and it did have to come down (it would have anyway!) - however, I remain convinced that the order should have been on the large, beautiful specimen Yew that was next to it, which was ignored, even when they turned up and walked round it to 'survey' the condition of the Cypress, which was not very visible from outside the garden, being mostly obstructed from public view by the beautiful Yew.

I wonder if they all come from Sheffield?

Diseased, confirmed by the council "Tree officer". Part of the condition for the new venture the is that they have to replace it, but not in the same place in that area....

Shame but unfortunately it did look rotten in sections. Better this than coming down on someone.

Hopefully they will replace it with more than just a twig

Slightly related, but the wrought iron fencing on Riverway that was based in by a falling tree a couple of month ago has been removed and replaced....

I noticed that part of the wrought iron railings opposite Tesco and adjacent to the garage on the Newport Road are missing with some tape in its place.
