Another tree gone!

I read on another site that the MRI factory (as was) is being knocked down for house building. Seem to think there were a lot of trees around there.

Is this true ?

Conifers are threatening, but watch out for silver birches. Licensed to kill, make no mistake.
Too right. I had one of them buggers in my back garden. I say 'had', its roots are still bloody there although the rest of it was chopped down when I moved in last year. I looked on Google maps back to 2012 and it's amazing how quickly the Birch grew from a sapling into a fully a tree of about 40 foot high in under five years.

I have an oak tree in my garden which was about the size of a big weed when I planted it 10 years ago. It's growing like some kind of mutation in a SciFi movie … :urgh:. I've pruned it a bit, but I think that's just annoyed it. :lorks:

It doesn't pay to mess too much with trees.

When you see road signs "Heavy Plant Crossing" it could mean that there is a pissed off oak tree looking for you.

And what about those barstud ashes, then? They lure fluffy kittens into their foilage and even the fire brigade can't save them. A menace to society.

Trees/hedge beside cycle track from J14 to Redhill seem to have gone missing. Isn't this the nesting season?
They are supposed to be netted first, to prevent nesting, as the ones up Marston Lane currently are, but the netting is often very cursory and the birds will get just under it anyway.

They netted the hedges when the bridge at the old Hixon level crossing was done. That netting was done in a fairly professional manner.

No bird's nest near Golden Orient for some reason, you know?

Lichfield Rd could soon have less trees.

Plans for 10 to be felled at the former Lloyds Bank and 2 felled at Greenhall Hall on the edge of town
