Another Virgin Media Issue

Spouting nonsense since the day I learned to talk
There was an outage in the ST17 area last night from about 6.20 to 10.00pm. I had to use o2 3G/E for any internet access which was painfully slow compared to VM.

Apparently ours kicked in last night too, I wasn't there though. VM text me at 08:56 this morning to say it was now fixed.

was considering going with VM for my internet when I moved here, but decided to go with infinity .
my contract with sky ends in a few months though and was thinking of going to them for just TV , would I be making a bad move ?

I dunno, usually VM BB is great. Can't comment on the TV but it comes down the same wire I believe, so would expect the same. They have a better physical infrastructure than sky (who rent off BT usually), and if internet is your thang I'd always go wiith them. BT infinity have much higher upload speeds though, so if that is a requirement go with them every time.

I can only remember a couple of outages with Virgin broadband in all the time I've been with them. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend them.

I've found the TV to be very reliable since the introduction of the V+HD box with minimal problems. The old Pace boxes were rubbish though but thankfully VM don't supply them now.

ill see what happens when my contract with sky is up , been with them since launch so if they don't offer to reduce the price ill tell them VM is cheaper and ill go there. thanks for the input guys!

It works both ways, tell whoever you are with now that you want to switch and you'll get a better deal. Not usually on the same phone call, but usually in the next week.

The VM broadband is ok in itself, and the tv has worked ok but we've had nothing but problems with both the phone line and the customer service...

Every single time the engineer has to go into the green box (opposite side of the rd and 2 doors down) for anything - our phone line is knocked out...it then takes days to get them to come back out to reconnect the line...

Both the customer service phone line and the staff in the shop in town are bloody useless (Incompetent) We were promised a credit on our bill when we took out the contract as we had just missed out on the half price deal which meant we would get the first two months free....instead of this happening they tried to take payments out of our bank, (which we hadn't anticipated) so we ended up with bank charges, and VM had the cheek to add charges for non-payment on something we shouldn't of had to pay for in the first place!!!

Husbands number one job next week to sort it all out...the store staff keep blaming it on staffing changes, more like they just can't be added!

GRRRRRRRRRR rant over. (for now)

When we've lost our virgin internet lately we have still been able to get the Virgin TV and phone line at that time.

Our Broadband been down completely for over 2 days and they reckon it was a fault in the ST17 area (neighbour could strangely get hers though).
Kept getting promises of several times I'd be up and running again, the time came and nothing. Apparently they prioritize the jobs, so the priorities kept changing!!!!!!! My present contract up today so ringing up elsewhere before I ring them armed with ammunition.Been with them 7 years but getting a bit fed up with the unreliability.
