Seems my intake of Gaviscon tabs is declining,i presume this is a good sign. I was told recently that the liquid form was superior and worked faster. However this brand is not the cheapest on the shelf so i was wondering, what do other folk use?....

I don't think you're meant to use them as a long term solution, can you not become tolerant and exacerbate the problem?

In answer to your question I don't really suffer with indigestion so don't have any exeprience of relief i'm afraid.

I've never suffered from indigestion, but I would counsel against brand names for *any* OTC medication; you can generally get a non-brand equivalent for a fraction of the price. Read the labels carefully.

I've been chewing the tabs for most of the last 12mths due to rather nasty acid/heartburn. Yet for some strange reason i've gone the best part of a week without the need and i wondered why this was as my diet has remained the same. Plenty of carbs, cayenne pepper in just about everyting i eat, i'm a stickler for my 5 fruit/veg a day and large quantities of ale.......

I've also used Gavilast which is a tiny tab taken with water and gives a good 12 hours relief i usually score my draw in Wilkinsons......

green tea taken 7 times a day may help you withdraw from your dependency

do not stop your alcoholic intake abrubtly, let yourself be weened of the drug slowly

If i remeber correctly, gaviscon forms a 'raft' in your stomach on top of the contents and so keeps it all in. As such you wont build up a tolerence. But think i would agree with shoes, dont use as a long term solution. Go see your GP.

Although i did report that my usage was in steep decline and i wondered why, however it could be that i've reduced my intake of the old vino of late , such as now my weekly booze quota is; 4btls vin de table, 15 cans of strong cider, 2 bottles of value voddy, and with regard to the ale well as it's the 'real stuff' it can only be good for me so i dunna count that.....

Is that all?? Well cant think of why you should have indigestion unless its going for a doner kebab on the way home after the ale.
