Any Pub Quizzes?

John Marwood

I ♥ cryptic crosswords
I went to my first quiz in years last weekend in the smoke

Have to say the questions seemed rather obscure even for someone with an odd mind like mine

Twas only at the answer stage that I realised why

All the questions were designed to be tricky to find on the internet..

All,
Seeing as I have been 'out of circulation' (read behaving) for some time,
the new bride would like to venture to an event such as a quiz..

I used to know them all, locations, times, days etc.... BUT the passage
of time isnt great on the mind, and the knowledge is gone....

Could you fine citizens of the boro please divulge the secrets of
these haunts please??

Thanks in advance!

Greyhound, County Road, Tuesdays, rarely starts before half nine, but times can be TV-football-dependent.

Plus food, don't forget the food.

Popular with students (or at least was, would i be right in assuming still is?), though i'm not sure why.

Did i mention the free food?

Anyone remember Switchgear Quizzes?

S
We were Frankie Vivaldi and the Four Seasons for the music quizzes, but I don't think anybody ever saw the joke. Otherwise, Fawlty Tower Block.

David Owen - "Why do you lot always win?"
Mr S Wain - "We just read magazines all day."

We did the Greyhound Quiz tonight - and managed a second place. There was a simian Forumite in attendance - under some half-hearted supervision, but he was of little use.....

The Stafford Sunday Quiz league is starting its winter season soon.

There is a meeting in the Bird in Hand on the 2nd of Sept at 8pm if anyone is interested in entering a pub team.

If you want more details, just ask me.
Hasn't the Bird in Hand closed? There was a sign on the door at the weekend stating it was 'closed until further notice'.
