I did really well, this was my first trip in months. My daughter now has a new pink keyboard (£2) I got 2x vintage Bass (drinks) trays for £1.50, a stunning old waxed pine blanket box for £30 (over the moon with this, I've been after one for a while and it would be around £80 on ebay) and about 30 brand new kids reading books (like the school ones) for £4!

It was nice to see a few dead animals hung above the stall, just like an old time butchers!
Not a lot there for me either but I did get an air compresser for my airbrush £2, no more cans of air at £8 a time.
Some silly bloke had screwed the piston right down so it didn't pump till I loosened it up.
Would you like a tyre inflator to go with your compressor?

Thanks but I have two, I bought one when I couldn't find the first one, and of course found the first one the next day.
and before any one asks I have a airbed inflater as well.
This kind of talk always reminds me of the time that Kenneth Horne, masterspy, was being shown various gadgets by Q - "This is a life-size inflatible model of David Frost - you blow it up here.."

The pictures were so much better on the radio...

I don't have a life size model of David Frost or want one, however, if I saw a life size inflatable model of Ursla undress, wahey!!

Yet more nothing for me, although I remembered that I forgot to report the aircraft chock from last week...

And the ink cartidges are back, 6 colour for £3, sadly no black ones, seems that I will have to refill some.
Not much else of interest, though there were a couple of nice tents.

Very big one! Unfortunatly the other half decided to go today, so I was too late for the bargains and too slow walking round, I only found one colour cartridge, and spent 50p.
I did see a car stuck in the mud just where the parking area started, always amusing when it's not me.

Massive Car Boot. Pity I arrived about 15 minutes before it threw it down and everyone started to pack away. Only purchase - a tie.

There was a couple on the Common this morning with a small table with a few rather insignificant items displayed on it. Not that unusual?

But they had arrived in a fairly new Bentley. It seemed quite odd...

Big again, but nothing of interest for me - although there was an electric mitre saw.

There has been a Krasnogorsk 16 mm cine camera there for the last few weeks - a few years ago and I might have been interested.

I'm just back from the monthly triumph of hope over experience, empty-handed as usual, even though I had the missus with me and she usually finds something to buy.

Walking back to St Albans Rd, where I'd parked the car, it occurred to me that whenever Councils build their tips, they ought to set aside some ground next to it for car boot sales. That way, people could just move the stuff they've not sold to the waste skip or the Oxfam book/clothes recycling bins. It would save an awful lot of of effort having to pack it away, and would remove the temptation of having to flog the junk the following week.

As an aside, I've just looked at the Common on Google Earth, and it looks like the photo was taken just as a car boot sale is winding down.

I suspect that the exit from the boot sale car park being where it is on Common Road, in proximity to the way in to the tip, may be no co-incidence...

I got up late again, so the wife and I went to Burrows field just past brocton, 80p to get in and bought nothing, in fact it was smaller than the stafford one was last week.:(
