10 damn chuggers standing in a row
10 damn chuggers standing in a row
and if one damn chugger pesters me once more
they'll be 10 damn chuggers lying on the floor!

SO annoying!! got stopped by 8 out of the 10 on my trip to the post office today. Can't anything be done about them?

They were Cancer Research today - I had a few minutes, so i hung around trying to catch one of them having a crafty fag...

There was also someone pushing Rag-Mags - when did that start happening in June?

Weren't chuggers 'banned' for a while in Stafford?

Don't forget the Big Issue lady as well!
I also saw you lurking in the market while I was out!!

Enjoying a drop of red.
Got followed by a chugger between the High House and Boots who kept pestering me and not taking 'no' for an answer until I pointed out that the last person to hassle me in the high street ended up in A&E. (They didn't of course, but he didn't know that).

Cancer research is of course a worthy charity, but after that I'm tempted never to donate to them again!

I donate to Charity when I choose to do so myself not when I'm pestered in the street. I donated to Cancer research online a few weeks ago and am supporting the Charity event for Katharine house at the castle on Saturday. Being annoyed in the street does not make me want to donate to Charity - I wonder if anyone ever actually does?

I always keep a few blank donor cards in my wallet, it seems to me to be perfectly reasonable to ask somebody performing such a public-spirited task if they carry one - and it might be taken to be a little worrisome....

You looked like you were lurking :)
You just weren't looking properly.

Saw loads today, one attempted to engage but backed of quickly when I glared at him. I need my lunch breaks to de-stress, getting in my way can be dangerous. Hell, even workmates are wary now and I like them!

I got harangued by two but they soon backed off when I said I don't support charities that test on animals.

Charity muggers in general are a scourge, particularly as the charity mugging companies keep a massive chunk of donations in commission.

They can **** off, already yelled at a street twat this week. No means no, a second no means you lose teeth. I feel sorry for companies near the market square because when I see these tossers on my lunch break I often just avoid central town. They never stray near Home and Bargains, in fact I rarely see them more than 40m from the guildhall. Hopefully when the new shopping centre opens they will **** off there.

I tend to just shout 'I HAVE NO MONEY!' That soon shuts them up!

I have the advantage of looking like a scruffy tramp so often don't get bothered...

However its a pain when I'm trying to purchase a sofa and can't seem to even catch the eye of a sales assistant..

I am pig sick of them feeling they have the right to interrupt my conversation. I only see them around 5 when I get off the train and I tend to meet up with my wife, so we are walking through town catching up and they interrupt. I usually say excuse me you are interrupting a conversation. Depending on my commute will depend on the politeness of this.

They are taught five steps to snare you

They are paid a basic fee plus commission

They want your personal details not a coin donation

They can be 'banned' if Stafford Borough Council has the will

They look like the types of people who get gormless people to 'sponsor' them so they can walk the Andes and scubadive the Maldives to raise 37p for a charity that wipes the arses of Walruses who have been rescued by some public school poncy olympic squad sailor types who like kyaking in the frozen wastelands of Cheadle.

One of them often passes the time by spinning his clip-board on the end of his finger - I'm sure that I've seen him canvassing for several different causes that he is 'committed' to.
