Went in myself today and was really disappointed... the shop is so crammed (with clothes rails that is, not people although there were a few in) that it was impossible to get in and look at things. Add to that that none of the stuff appeared to be separated by sizes (like T K Maxx do) or on hangers that showed the sizes.... basically a complete waste of time unless I was likely to check every item.

It also looked like a jumble sale in parts, with clothes that look like they had come from a tramp they were so dirty looking. Ok, most stuff is £1 but if I can't find stuff that fits me or that looks good enough to wear, then i'm not going to part with my hard earned.....

Finally, what appeared to be two staff (although could have been customers I suppose) were sat on the floor at the back, sorting through piles of clothes whilst texting their mates and eating pasties..... which is why I am surprised about the "5 years fashion retail experience" line above.... its hardly a designer fashion house... if you can put a jumper on a hanger and hang it on a rail, surely you can do the job.

Caveat - not wanting to slag off a local business here, I only speak as I find and hopefully some of the above may lead to improvements being made.

EDIT: Good luck if you do apply Jade, from what I know of you on here, you would be perfect and could perhaps address some of the issues from above.

this issue was observed and action has already been taken. when we have the shop more organised I will update you and if you could let me know what you think again Id really appreciate it. Thanks for taking the time to come in.

Actually just given myself an idea with that last post .....
Clothesland - you could get people to post photos of themselves either on here or on your Facebook page wearing outfits they have brought from Clothesland. It might inspire other people to have a rummage and see what they can find in there.

So, if I spot you today, can I have a rummage..?

Actually, good idea, I don't recall a Fashion Thread - we do seem to be food-obsessed, though...

In regards to local artists;

This item is from a Stafford born artist who went to Stafford College.
It has been produced & manufactured in Stafford by www.bigmouthclothing.com
These T-Shirts are exclusive to Clothesland and can not be bought anywhere else.
Priced at just £8 in the Boutique 128 section each sale generates commission for the artist & a donation to charity.
There are currently 5 unique designs unavailable anywhere else.
We are also stocking exclusive products from Bigmouthclothing.com

Thanks for the prompt response and taking my feedback in the positive manner it was meant :) Oh and welcome to the forum.

Yep I think if you could find a way to either a) separate the sizes of each type (i.e. separate t-shirts into s, M, L, XL etc) a la T K Maxx or b) just put stuff on hangers showing the sizes, it would make having a look so much easier, thus hopefully 1. helping me find more stuff I want to buy and 2. making my visit quicker so I am crowding up your shop less time.

Look forward to the changes and will be sure to pop back in sometime soon.

Just had a quick nose round. It seemed reasonably organised to me - but, what do I know..?

You could clothe yourself for a fiver in there - well worth a regular rummage, I think.

Its also necessary to mention; Crystal, Katie & Vicky the shop has been a huge team effort and everyone involved have worked really hard !

I've even gotten up early to help out our shop staff with new stock that has come in ready for today..... We've decided to improve the quality of our stock!!!!!!!!!! ;)

Hi Clothesland! And welcome to the forum!

I popped in yesterday and you've got a great mix of clothes and a really amazing space!

I just wanted to say Jade Clothing could make an amazing impact in your shop, I think it looks a little bit like a jumble sale at the mo, it needs a professional touch and she would be just perfect for it!!!

I have sold to Jade many times and she has advised me on selling techniques and the best way to market certain products, all which have been very successful!

And if you don't employ her I will start a protest!!!
