XL FM understands that one of Stafford's favourite community venues is to shut the doors at the end of March.

French owned, Alstom, have taken the decision to close St.Leonard's Sports & Social Club following an AGM meeting earlier tonight ( Wednesday 30/01/2013 ). This is a devastating blow to the factories employees and local community. The club has been existence for well over 30 years and has continually supported local charitable organisations and community groups.

Not at all. I've been there as an innocent participant a few times and it's very reminiscent of the Measurements Club, so should be adequate for your purposes, although the car-parking is not so good..

Small shop closures are progress, says ex-Tesco boss

The British Independent Retailers Association said 98% of the the UK's £150bn grocery industry was controlled by just nine stores.

Speaking on BBC Radio 4's Desert Island Discs, Sir Terry Leahy also called some High Streets "medieval", saying the way people lived their lives had changed.

The administrators to HMV are preparing to close as many as 100 shops.

It is understood that Deloitte will this week announce plans to close between
60 and 100 HMV stores, resulting in the loss of up to 1,500 jobs. The shops
will not close immediately, however, but will remain open until they have
run out of stock.

Just to let you know i've sorted the venue out now, it's cost me an extra £60 but as long as we leave the place clean and tidy we will get £50 back :)
I spoke to St Leonards and yes they are definately closing in March but exactly when they don't know.
Thanks for your help and suggestions.
