The building opposite to where the seized car was is, indeed, The Convent - now, essentially, a nursing home.

Yesterday, I saw a solo PCSO on foot, patrolling Beaconside, between the two Sandon Road junctions.

Another one today:

This is a message to warn residents of a scam commonly known as the ‘Courier Scam’
It involves someone purporting to be a Police Officer telephoning to say that they have persons in custody who have fraudulently used your bank cards.
They then ask to check your details and ask for your PIN number and helpfully state they will send a ‘courier’ round to collect your cards in order for forensic checks to be carried out. They even give you a password that the ‘courier’ will quote to prove their identity.
A short time later the ‘courier’ will arrive to collect your cards which are then of course used to obtain money from your account.
It is worth remembering that Banks will NEVER ask for your PIN number.
The latest reported incident of this type of scam was yesterday Thursday 29th May where the ‘courier’ collected bank cards from an address in Clarendon Drive, Stafford at 6.30pm.
He was described as an Asian male, 25-30 years of age, 6’ tall, of thin build and had black hair.
He was wearing a yellow fluorescent jacket and jeans.

Did they scramble the helicopter, too? Probably someone who didn't buy a parking ticket.

Dont be ridiculous, the car actually had a light out, they dont go harassing people for nowt. Ive had a car broken in to and they didnt even turn up because they were out on serious jobs like broken bulbs. Also about 4 years ago there was somebody trying to break into a neighbours back garden. Called them, they came round the next day! Too busy for pathetic call out like that, too busy taking cider off teens, much more important. One of my workmates had his van broken in to and thousands of pounds worth of kit stolen. He rang them, didnt even come out. Just said theres been loads done that night round the area and gave him a crime number. Obviously they were busy that day, again probably busting people on bikes in the town centre ordropping fag butts.

Next time simply say 'there are two underage drinkers dropping fag butts as they're speeding around on their unlit bikes in my garden'.

I saw a stinger deployed today, on the northbound exit slip at Junction 14.

Rather exciting, but it looked like the potential target had carried on through on the M6.
