In Worcester News about banks, but probably applies to most branches

    https://www.worcesternews.co.uk/news/18331040.banks-building-societies-reduce-hours/

Ringing HMRC was told " refund's been approved and Cheque in with higher managers for signing with it being a larger amount" Asked if they could pay money straight into bank account as they had our details . But no, it's got to be a cheque . Got to risk it and go down and put that in when it comes now .

Anyone know if LLoyds in Market Square has an ATM on the outside of the building which accepts cheque deposits , rather than use the inside one?

You can deposit checks with the Lloyds Banking app from the comfort of your own home

With everyone cooped up in their homes, wonder if the murder rate is going to rise?

You mean the “accidental death in a domestic dwelling” rate, surely?

Thought it was ethylene they gave off as they ripened, or are they dual purpose?

Also, double quote doesn't work. Night night. X

So always looking for the silver lining - I have ordered myself not one but two sets of new pjs for the first time in far too long! And they come in a tall option so there is a good chance the bottoms will cover my ankles, , they should arrive tomorrow and I’m far more excited than I should be.

I have managed to place an amazon (unfortunately not loo roll) order that made it today, driver beeped the horn and left my package in the middle of the driveway. I bet these restrictions are working really well for their delivery time quotas!

I think a moderator should move this to the Mundane Things thread...

Probably have a limit per cheque though. (HSBC is £750 per cheque).
It’s quicker using the app. Every cheque I’ve paid in (a lot of them) has cleared & been ‘available” the next working day.
    P. S. HMRC only pay by cheque yet they expect business users to only pay electronically. It’s surprising how many people still insist on paying even small amounts by cheque, they feel safer giving out a piece of paper with all their bank details etc rather than a fairly “anonymous” internet transfer.
