But kids are at extremely low Ksi risk from covid. There more likely to be killed/seriously injured in a road accident.
It's all about risk management and cost Vs benefit. Zero covid is impossible without a strict perpetual lockdown and even than its likely to keep popping up. Whatever we do everyone will be exposed sooner or later. What else can we do? even Australia is moving away from the zero covid plan.

I'm not sure who you are replying to here. Zero covid has never been a UK policy, far from it, In fact it seems the unofficial government policy is let it burn through schools as fast as possible. After all we have no bubbles, no isolations for close contacts etc. Time will tell if this is the correct policy.

Holmcroft. The GPs are doing it from The Kingston Centre this time.
Brilliant ! :) ( I went to Holmcroft for my flu jab the other week and wouldn't mind going back there again for my covid booster . Hopefully I get that choice when my invite comes )

Dunno about where you live, but round here those kids go home to their parents after school, and see their grandparents at weekends etc. The kids themselves getting ill is only a small part of it, how will those kids feel if they take it home and it kills a nobhead parent who didn't want the vaccine?

You can't catch a road accident, though, can you? Nor are you more like to have a road accident by being around other people who have just been in one.

Worth mentioning that 1 in 10 school age kids who've caught covid have been suffering with long covid symptoms. You're talking about young people whose quality of life will be altered long after infection and that's 1 in 10.

It's YOU! YOU OUT OF TOWNERS, stealing our Holmcroft vaccines!!

In all seriousness I wouldn't want anyone who wants a vaccine not to be able to have one.... But Holmcroft sent me a text a while back asking me to book my flu & pneumonia vaccine.... Tried to book it only to be told there is a shortage & they will contact me when ones available!

Maybe it's cos I need the one for 50yr olds, who knows, I'll try again tomorrow.

proactive

Enjoying a drop of red.

I saw their post saying all 65+ welcome to come along, even if not from that area . Hubby's footie mate who volunteers there had mentioned they had plenty so I rang and said I'm up in Wildwood.
She said everyone is welcome as long as they were 65 or over for that session.
If my covid booster had have been due she said she would have whacked one of those in as well at same time.

Holmcroft was the only place seeming to be able to obtain the elusive over 65's.

Hubby had his under 65's at our local pharmacy up this end , and could have also had it at Boots retail park as they had it available last week.
Worth a try there at Boots retail park @littleme Better ringing or calling in to book if booking site isn't taking bookings .

I think I'll ask at the Holmcroft pharmacy tomorrow, I've usually had my flu jab by now, and while I usually don't have the pneumonia jab due to the side effects, I think this year it may be a stupid choice not to have it...... I think my covid booster will be due next month...

Yeo, I think that's my problem, I only 50 but classed as vulnerable (medical) & I think us under 65s have a slightly different one.... Day off tomorrow, so I'll investigate.

The over 65's has an additional ingredient which makes it faster acting ( or something like that I was told)
I had one at Tesco , Newport rd last year which I booked online

Thought about Minime having her covid job a few weeks ago @littleme as I sat there.
The nurse waiting to do the covid jabs didn't have any takers.

Gov website says don't have a flu and booster together

NHS website says do

Notice in Kingston says don't have booster if you just had flu vaccine

But doesn't mention having flu jab if you just had booster
