Son made one from some government instructions (or something like that) at the start of lockdown , using an old t-shirt and didn't even have to sew it. Just cut it and looked quite good actually . Only wore it the once though to go to the petrol station .I've steered away from medical grade masks as they tend to not be reusable. You are right any covering is adequate even the jumper your waring pulled up over your nose will do. I've gone with a sports mask that will continue to be used well after the pandemic is over.
He wears disposable masks supplied at work , that they all have to wear all shift, so also has a thing holding the loops together behind his head to make it more comfortable and stop the loops rubbing the ears .
