Thanks @littleme Didn't know about that place, but just ordered some for part of hubbys b'day present (might have to order some more before then if I can't resisit the lot after testing them out first .....)

@littleme Did they message you to say when they were arriving, or just turn up? Need to make sure I get to the door first !
They do say they will message you first, but we didn't receive a message - they just delivered them the next day, then later we had a message to say they had been delivered!

Middle-child enjoyed his box too :yay:

Mrlittleme ordered them one for us & one for middle child, I was at work when they were delivered, at first I thought it was quite a small box, but there are absolutely loads in there, they're lovely too. I'm not a fan of chocolate (husband is), but love jellies, fizzys and all the other sweeties, and *next time I would pick sour or fizzy.

*next time might be a while, I'm told we are going on a strict diet as of next week as all we have done over the last 15 weeks is stuff ourselves with food & drink... Wish me luck.

The Candy Boat is in Gnosall this weekend...
I saw one years ago on the canal by Radford Bank, but hadn't got any money on me at the time. Never saw it again.
Will have to make sure I take money on our canal walks in future, for incase we come across any boats selling goodies.

The lady who ran the coffee boat I came across last week seemed to suggest there were a lot on the Shropshire Union as there are normally festivals there in late May, so they were on their way down when lockdown happened. Think they have to go south to get back on the Trent and Mersey which I think is the one through Stafford.

Just got mine delivered. :) Didn't get a message beforehand either , so luckily came when I could race to the door before hubby answered it.

Trying to decide ...do I wrap them straight up, or open up to see what the contents are like and then wrap up with a few less than when they arrived?

Edited........ made the mistake of nicking 3 out of the box...going to have to order some more just for me! Craving for more :D

Fantastic service from Candy Land - Staffordshire . Only ordered late yesterday afternoon and already delivered to the door. Thanks for recommendation @littleme :)

Trent & Mersey is the one through Stone, the Haywoods and Rugeley. The one near Stafford is the Staffs & Worcester, However they will be travelling up the Staffs & Worcester to get to the Trent & Mersey at Great Haywood.

I thought I might be wrong. So how do you get from the Shropshire Union (where the candy boat is at the moent) to either of these?

By boat?

Down the Shroppie from Gnosall via Church Eaton, Wheaton Aston & Brewood to Autherley Junction, which is roughly between Pendeford & Wolverhampton. Sharp left onto the Staffs & Worcester, up round Coven, Gailey, Penkridge, Acton Trussell, Radford Bank, Milford, Tixall to Great Haywood Junction & on to the T&M.

As the map posted by @Gramaisc shows. Other routes are available but longer.

Thank you. There's a junction right by work in Walsall which has a sign to Autherley and I'd never looked it up. I guess I could cycle down the towpaths to work if I ever go back to the office.

Can we collect from them? Liking the vegan option!
I don't think so, still waiting on our vegan box, I messaged them and got a auto reply of please allow 3 days for delivery, although the other 2 boxes we had (non vegan) were delivered the next day.

Alas despite plenty of "Skills" posts on the past is a cuffy this time to FMS. Car was booked in for an MOT on Monday which it failed, and was told they needed to get a part in. Not a problem I thought, however called today to get an ETA on the work to be told that they are so busy they can't fit it this week (despite having the part).

So frustrating, wish they had mentioned it at the time!!!
