Hello everyone

This is my first post!

Just wondering who people recommend for a Indian takeaway that deliver? We always used Nishad's but gone off it due to making me ill once!

All the best

Cheers

Hi dajoja, welcome to The Forum. :)

I notice you are posting from the Netherlands! I'm not sure if there are any Indian restaurants in Stafford that would delivery that far. ;)

It's always nice to have international users. Mind if I ask your connection with Stafford? Did you used to live here, or are you a current resident who is just on their jollies?

Don't feel obliged to answer, I'm just interested and being nosey. :P

Oh, and you will find many recommendations for Indian restaurants in this thread: http://www.staffordforum.com/viewtopic.php?id=981

As well as specific threads for Abdul's and Karma II.

Karma II deliver, had one the other night. Their food isn't as hot as most places TBH, but it is bloody tasty! Spice Delight used to be great, but they lost the plot a bit over the last year or so. Still better than many, but not up to their standard.

With both though delivery is only within 5 miles IIRC so you may have an issue....

Before the boat quip i found this which sounds like a proper adventure.

Not for the faint-hearted though;

Day 17+: Amritsar-Delhi: There are regular daily trains from Amritsar to Delhi, see above for information on Indian train travel
Day 17+ sounds positively over-positive.

I used to use Nishad's but felt ill after one a while back, maybe I was just unlucky. Anyone else had a Nishad's recently??

We also used to use Nishads years ago, but stopped a couple of years back. Its still OK. I did hear they got done by health & safety (last year I think it was), but its still going now so they have obviously passed the inspection since then OK.

I always find a curry tastes better when you eat in - especially if it comes out on a sizzling skillet. :) Certainly if its unlicensed I always think its better just to eat in. However I understand thats not always possible - especially if like me you have kids.

Anyway the curry house we always use these days is Abduls. We probably go there at least once a month and we also know lots of other people that also go there on a regular basis.

With any of these things its personal choice though isn't it. Some people like a proper curry while others are happy with a bit of meat in gravy.

Abduls is my choice for takeaway too now- although it is slightly more expensive- I have the Chicken Naga Chilli. Still use Nishads if I have friends round who don't seem to appreciate Abduls.

Is that curry as hot as I imagine, how does it compare to something like a madras.
The hottest curry I ever had was a chicken chilli massala from the spice ave w'hampton a number of years ago, my god the sweat poured out of me, I finished the curry but I have to admit it was too hot for me.

If you like it hot you should try some Rasam if you are ever in the south of India!
