I wonder if Spoons will flood out again?

Will be a good test for the new measure that have put in place.

It says that the Guildhall Shopping Centre and Indoor Market are closed ufn - but probably until later today because of minor flooding.

Wouldn’t be the first weird listing. Some joker thought you could fit an entire house in a little patch of land at the bottom of Kingston Hill a while back, just on the corner and presumably creeping into the Morris Man overflow

Not just a weird listing, its been bought. Would a lender allow a mortgage on houses built on that land?

As the is the freehold on the land, all the houses already built must be leaseholds so the yearly ground rent will provide a decent income

I'm pretty [sure] I've seen it flood, or at least get very boggy indeed

Strange that, we looked at one of the 3 storey house there over 12 years ago and I don't recall it being leasehold (it's the sort of thing we would have noticed...)

Looks as though it was an access track to a building at the back of the other properties. Think the freehold only relates to this piece of land, not the adjoining properties.

There’s been a lot of activity at the site recently clearing vegetation. I asked one of the workmen what was planned and he told me it would be either “The Lost World of Atlantis” theme park or - if funding wasn’t forthcoming - a paddy field.
